Hello Everyone: We can now confirm the time and date for Margaret Horrigan's Visitation and Funeral Service. Everything will take place at Malvern Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, December 8th. We are asking that only people who have been double-vaccinated enter. You will be asked to show proof at the door. Once registered, you may come into the sanctuary and pay your respects between 1pm and 2pm. Her ashes will be present as she requested to be cremated. We will keep the... numbers to the maximum allowed with safe distancing and will ask that you not linger so that others can come and pay their respects. At 2pm, unless you have been invited to stay for the Funeral Service, you will be asked to please leave. We will have a simple service of farewell to a dear mother, grandmother and friend. The family is planning a large Memorial Service, here at MPC again, for Margaret sometime in the late spring or early summer. We cannot safely do any of that now and the family wants to give Margaret a good send-off with her grandchildren and as many of her friends as possible in attendance. Sad to hear of the passing of Margaret from Malvern Presbyterian Church. She worked hard for the community with enthusiasm, dedication and passion. She did many amazing things for the local community in Malvern and will be dearly missed. Rest In Peace Margaret.

Malvern Presbyterian Church is deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our dear members, Margaret Horrigan. Margaret was called to be with the Lord on this past Tuesday, November 30th, 2021. She leaves behind to mourn, her son Ian Thomson, daughter Kerri Thomson, 2 grandchildren, a sister, and many nieces and nephews around the world. Not only was Margaret a founding member of our now 44 yr old church, she was an Elder, the Church Administrator and our Clerk of Se...ssion as well. Margaret dedicated her life to her Lord and Savior and the work of His church for a large portion of her life. Margaret will be deeply missed by her entire church family and many, many friends she made over her lifetime. She made a big impact on the lives of the youth in our church as well. They will all miss their chats and little outings together. A letter from Rev. Barbara Duguid: Hello everyone: First of all, let me thank you all for your faithfulness throughout this period of testing and separation. We have managed to keep things going at the church but we are struggling still. Please pray that the Lord will provide for our needs especially in these next few months. ... The world has been forced to readjust its ways of doing things. The Church is no different. We must adapt or expire. And so we are looking towards the future and the uncharted territory that we are entering. To help us in that exciting transition I am taking some time away from pastoral duties in order to review the many webinars I had attended last year including yet another one tomorrow. The topics covered are from preparing for a hybrid church (in person and online); to strategic planning and visioning; to handling conflict within the church. I will also be planning the worship services for Lent, which begins with Ash Wednesday next week, Feb 17th. I will be 'away' from tomorrow, February 12th to February 19th. I return to work on Saturday, Feb 20th. During this time I will not be available for pastoral duties. If you have a pastoral need or an emergency, please call your elder or Margaret Horrigan. The minister taking my place for any emergencies is Rev. Deon Slabbert. If necessary, Margaret will get hold of him. Worship on February 14th: This Sunday the elders of the church will prepare and present the worship service. I hope you all tune in and encourage them in this ministry. Good morning everyone! Now that we are in Phase 3, for the month of September, we will be worshipping in person every 2nd Sunday. Last Sunday was the first in-person worship so the next in-person worship service will be September 20th at 10:00 am. We will inform you if we need to change this schedule.
