Did you know that Malvern has an awesome Student Council (SAC)? Follow them on Instagram.
Thank you Malvern Families Our holiday staff and teacher appreciation day was a success!
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Day - Tuesday December 15th Please bring baked goods or festive goodies (home made or store bought) to the school on Tuesday morning so that we can send the Malvern staff and teachers off on their holidays in good spirits and to thank them for their extra efforts this year. Drop offs can be made between 7:30 and 9:00 am at the parking lot doors to Principal Kaskens. We do ask that your items are individually wrapped so that it's easy and safe for teachers and staff. Happy, warm and safe holidays from your Malvern School Council.
YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED! The School Statement of Needs (SSON) has been drafted. Please have a look and let us know your thoughts on: 1) the ranking of the school/community needs; 2) description of a Principal's tasks and traits; ... 3) anything that pertains to Malvern that we have missed in this document. Please feel free to leave a message on our FB page or by email: [email protected]. Deadline for feedback is Dec 13th. https://drive.google.com//196r7dyETaTI4EZF8smx3rXxDn/view
Looking for input on Malvern’s School Statement of Needs (SSON) Every year, School Councils across the TDSB are asked to complete a School Statement of Need (SSON) by the Superintendent of Education. This helps to identify the school’s communities priorities should the school have a change in principal (we are not expecting any change in our school principal at Malvern in the near future). We are drafting a SSON and will be sending it out this week for parents to review. If you have any suggestions regarding: school priorities, preferred personal traits such as: professional skills & experience, management style, teaching philosophy and leadership qualities, values and program promotion please write them down and send them to us: [email protected].
The 4th School Council meeting of the year complete. We continue to have a fantastic turn out at each meeting. All parents are welcome! What we are working on: Great initiatives were discussed and are underway such as 1) exploring fundraising equity initiatives 2) our upcoming Parent-2-Parent night where parents can talk with other parents and our guidance counsellors about: understanding course selection, helping your teen deal with academic pressure/stress, post-secondary p...athways prep and more. Target timing is March, but more information to come and date to be confirmed, 3) an Anti-Black Racism Workshop for parents. Of Note: Students are concerned about each other’s and teacher safety. Especially when they see kids congregating in large groups outside of school hours. They kindly ask that parents continue to talk with their teens about the importance of social distancing and other public health measures. Help! We need a few more volunteers. Please DM/Message us to join our team. Save the date - our next meeting is Tuesday Jan 12th from 7-8:30 pm. Stay safe, warm and happy holidays from your School Council. See more
ICMYI: the Malvern Marching Band was one of only eight bands invited to participate in this year’s Santa Claus parade which was filmed at Canada’s Wonderland a few weeks ago. It aired last night. Kudos to the students and Mr. Falla who did us all proud!
Looking for volunteers who love putting the "fun" into fundraising. Interested? Leave us a message on our FB page.

TDSB POST-SECONDARY INFORMATION SESSION: November 24, 7-8:15 pm To help families make sense of the post-secondary admissions process during COVID-19, the TDSB will be hosting a Post-Secondary Information Session for Parents that focuses on the OUAC (Ontario University Application Centre) and OCAS (Ontario Colleges Application Service) application process and important information related to how applications and admissions are being managed during COVID-19.... After a brief overview of the post-secondary application process participants will hear briefly from some of our post-secondary institutions.
