Hey everyone, I LOVE this awesome little song, which made its way around the globe after Allison Davies - Brain Care, not Behaviour Management first shared it weeks ago. I thought everyone had seen it, but I'm finding it's not the case and I'm sharing it daily via my not always in tune vocals. It's not only a great affirmation, but pairing it with a catchy tune integrates the message into our brains - and with repetition our subconscious perceives it to be true. Great to share with your kids, but equally beneficial for us. Seriously - I can't not be happy when singing this . If you're preparing for your birth #hypnobirthing uses affirmations, audios and breath work in the same way. #hypnobirthingclasses at #mamacaretoronto - now online via Zoom. #positiveaffirmations, #postivebirth #staywell

It's nice to take a day to celebrate those we love. Of course we can celebrate love everyday. The truth is - we ARE love. We tell our children we love them, but it's a powerful thing to also tell them they ARE love. When we know this, love isn't dependent on anything or anyone external. Love becomes unconditional. <3 #mamacaretoronto,#torontomoms,#etobicokemoms,#mississaugamoms,#vaughanmoms,#woodbridgemoms,#richmondhillmoms,#happyvalentinesday,#love,#truelove,#youareloved,#youarelove

Yes - there are no cookie cutter ideals! This can create so much anxiety in new mothers - which then impedes breastfeeding and milk production by decreasing the hormone oxytocin. In birth, it's about connecting to your body and your baby for an instinctive birth #hypnobirthing. And it's the same after your baby is born! 'Listen to your baby. This isn't birth related - but about women supporting women, in all sorts of ways! It's all a form of mothering really :) "The power we women hold within us is a light, a light that loses nothing by being shared."

"We all do and not just individually, but collectively. This isnt solely an individual behavior issue. Its a public health issue". I'm posting this because it's quite heartbreaking when you see it and you're looking into a baby's or child's eyes. ://thriveglobal.com/stories/arianna-huffington-parenting-distracted-technology-screen-time-impacting-children-relationships/?fbclid=IwAR04BlLQLg6qaqvbLKz7_quJgbVaaUVoyVCzRQOrBQ4riqUwmPPfP68SO2E

You really do want to prepare for your birth - to avoid routine practices that cause complications! From the latest study, "The evidence to support the safety of homebirth for low risk women... is now very convincing. Perhaps we need to ask: is hospital birth safe or sustainable for low risk women in developed and developing nations? To go down this path, we need to change the embedded narrative, to embrace a definition of safety that women instinctively understand and strive for, including physical, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual safety." https://www.thelancet.com//PIIS2589-5370(19)3014/fulltext #instinctivebirthing,#birthpreparation, #birthpreparationclasses, #hypnobirthingtoronto, #hypnobirthinggta,#hypnobirthing,#mamacaretoronto

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. ~ Albert Einstein Yes, yes! Young children really do learn through osmosis. Too often we pressure them into rote learning as well-intentioned as that may be. The benefits of left lying in pregnancy. But did you know that in general it also boosts digestion, helps to drain toxins from lymph nodes and your brain, improves circulation, and alleviates heartburn and acid reflux? I always think about this re digestion in babies. Most of us right handed folk hold our babies on the left, which means they're lying on their right. It's a bit awkward, but may be worth trying the left side for feeding, after burping, or for initial sleep.

R.I.P. The founder of HypnoBirthing, Mickey (Marie) Mongan, passed away June 17th at the age of 86. She received many life time awards, and was a true visionary and fierce advocate for women in birthing. She challenged a highly medicalized perspective of birth and its dis-empowerment of women over 50 yrs ago. She continued her work/life purpose relentlessly and has changed countless births (mother and child) and lives worldwide for over 30 years, since formally creating HB. She's been instrumental in bringing back Instinctive Birthing - no matter what the outcome. Power returned to women. I'm grateful to her, to be able to help parents in my corner of the world. #hypnobirthingtoronto, #hypnobirthinggta, #mamacaretoronto #hypnobirthingthemonganmethod, #torontomoms, #vaughanmoms, #etobicokemoms, #lakeshoremoms, #mississaugamoms

To all my past, present and future HypnoBirthing families - let's get together! I'd LOVE to see you and your little ones at this gathering - in High Park, hosted by a few of us HB Practitioners, to celebrate 30 yrs of HB. It was an honour to be a part of your birth journey and would be fun to reunite, and meet other HB families as well - if you can make it.
