I can’t believe I’ve been teaching yoga for 8 years where did the time go?? . I remember how nervous I used to be planning for classes. I used to plan absolutely every detail right down to the last second of class! I was so worried I’d forget something . Now I plan a skeleton class. I have a basic idea of where I want the class to go and what poses I want to cover and the rest is just feel and intuition. I’m able to just be in the moment and allow the class to take... me where it wants to go. . It’s amazing what time and practice and experience can do! So if your new to something (whether it’s a job, a hobby or a new workout regime) and your nervous, or second guessing yourself or you feel like it’s not going well... Give yourself some time and give yourself some grace!! Have patience and have faith, it does get easier and you will gain confidence as you go, just stick with it!! . Currently putting together classes for my upcoming 4 week Hatha class which I’m so excited for!! There are 3 spots left, DM me if you’d like to join us See more

The Second Chakras brings us our emotional identity . It’s job is to get things moving, like water and to bring pleasure into our lives; it wants us to feel good. . The Sacral Chakra Svadhisthana is located in the lower back/abdominal/ genital region of the body. . The purpose of the Sacral Chakra is feeling, emotions; to stimulate movement and to bring pleasure into our lives. ... . It’s element is Water , it’s colour is Orange and it’s demon or nemesis is Guilt. . If you are balanced in this Chakra you will feel emotionally connected with healthy boundaries and the capacity for deep pleasure. You have the ability to embrace change and to feel deeply without getting lost in emotion. You are graceful, nurturing and your sexuality and sensuality are balanced. . If you have excess energy here you might be highly emotional and sensitive, self indulgent, seductive, highly sexual and/or have an addictive personality. . If you are deficient in this Chakra you may be out of touch and prudish, avoid pleasure and relaxation, strict, numb, rigid and lack a desire for passion or to be sexual. . If your feeling stuck here, getting energy moving through your body (especially hips and pelvis) is the best way to free up the second chakra. Exercise: 1. Lie on your back, bend both knees with your feet flat on the floor about hips width apart. 2. Quickly press your feet into the floor and then release them allowing the movement to rock your pelvis back and forth. (Make sure your belly is completely relaxed, the movement should come entirely from your legs) 3. Repeat several times as you see fit; (if you had any pain or stiffness in tour low back you may start to notice it melting away.

Thank you so much Lorena Murray and Andrea Angus for helping me to record my Gravity Yoga certification video!! So What is Gravity Yoga? . Gravity Yoga is targeted mobility training that involves long-hold stretches. Poses are practiced completely relaxed, passively, so Gravity does most of the work (hence the name). ... . We focus on specific breathing techniques, focused relaxation and increasing time under passive tension. . Gravity yoga is a great supplement to other forms of workouts including running, weightlifting, CrossFit, MMA, boxing as well as other forms of yoga. . Gravity yoga is not recommended if you are pregnant or have any kind of condition that creates hyper-mobility in your joints as there is an increased risk for injury. See more

Under Construction . So I was really hoping that by the time fall rolled around Social Distancing would be a thing of the past and I’d be able to continue teaching classes as normal. . BUT it’s looking like this IS our new Normal for the foreseeable future ... . I miss my Yoga Family SO MUCH so I’m making some changes to the studio so that I can reopen and we can practice together safely. . It’ll look a little different, class sizes will be smaller and there’ll be some extra precautions that might make it tough to show up a minute before class and still be on time (you know who you are) but I’m excited to have you back in the studio again! . Stay tuned for class options and start dates See more
