Hello Port Alberni. My name is Jonathan Bjorgan and I am pleased to offer 1.5 hr dog hiking services Monday through Friday from approximately 9:00 -10.30 am. $25 an excursion includes pickup/drop-off, and will cover sections of the vast trail system surrounding Port. The first outing is $20 to try out. The pace, distance, on/off leash nature of each hike will be determined through an interview with dog owners prior to the first outing. Additionally, at no extra cost I am willing to provide my clients with full access to the many pictures I will undoubtedly take (with permission) of their dogs enjoying nature. A quick look of my photo galleries will confirm this is no exaggeration and a clear passion of mine to share with clients.
Bailey, Chester, Dave, Ember, Ethel, Freya, Hildegard, Kallie, Kilo, Kume, Parker, Telsa, Tucker, Waffles, Zane, Zola
I like looking at a lot of the dog videos in slow motion. It is facinating to examine the mechanics of how they run and in this case shake off water. The shake starts at Chester's head and ripples down to the tip of his tail. Even his back legs got quite involved in the wiggle. I find it a little bit hypnotic to watch.
The dogs and I hiked to our favourite beach today. I had not ever taken Bailey to the water yet and I wanted to see how she would take to it. From the pictures I think one can tell that she is probably not a water dog, though she did appreciate exploring the beach with her nose.
Hilde, the motivated stick catcher
I was a bit horrified watching the slow motion replay of Hilde leaping for the stick in that manner over the rocks. In real time I did not appreciate what she actually did. I was impressed how she managed to stick the landing though. For all Hilde's efforts, Freya walked away with the stick quite easily without the need for acrobatics and proceeded to wave the stick under Hilde's nose like a younger sibling would.
This activity is a lot of fun. I set my Gopro up on its tripod and use the chuck-it ball as a way to direct my dogs past the camera. Most of the pictures are captures of them running at top speed. The camera gets run over a lot depending on how brave the ball thrower is to get a great close-up picture. The results are unexpected and often hilarious.
