Happy Sunday friends.

People ask me all the time if I’m still teaching yoga. I was extremely blessed to have an incredibly supportive and open-minded community of people who gathered for my classes when I was teaching. Something I didn’t realize though is that when you start guiding people through healing, sometimes things come up that need to be healed and addressed in yourself as well. This is what I found. It may not be the case for everyone. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE teaching yoga and I lov...e the practice of yoga for my own healing, physically and mentally, and I truly believe it is a powerful practice. For right now - I’m just doing me. Healing, forming healthy habits, and focusing on what I need from a yoga practice or workout. I still try to fit in my own practice 2-3 times a week, although it can look very different from what it once was. I look forward to Sunday’s when (if it’s nice) I practice outside. Last year at this time I was firing up a full schedule of classes, this year I am focusing on me .. for now. Ps - this pose is one of my very favourites. Anahatasana (melting heart pose) - great stretch for your shoulders and upper back and helps open through the heart (chest). Settle in to this pose for 2-3 minutes trying to relax all the muscles surrounding those shoulder joints (as long as it doesn’t hurt your shoulders) and see how good it feels! Don’t forget to breathe. Happy Sunday friends!! Much love, Mandy . . . #Anahatasana #yoga #activerecovery #feelingme #noshame #yogaselfie #deckyoga #stretchitout #moveyourbody #selflovemovement #selfcare See more

I wrote this blog post a few years ago. It came up as a FB memory and I realized it’s awesome. And relevant. Enjoy!

https://instagram.com/p/ByXm7j6nSl6/ Strive for progress not perfection. I know, I know so cliché. BUT, let’s say it again for the perfectionists in the back! Progress not perfection.... Just start! Whatever it is - whether it’s getting up early, reading books, changing a bad habit, or running. We are so stuck in this mindset where all the stars need to align for us to ‘start’ something new. And when we don’t see change happen right away we quit. Our society has lead us to believe that we just need to follow These 5 easy steps and we’ll be on our way. Guess what, what may be 5 easy steps for one person, could be 2 steps forward, 3 back, 2 more forward... you get my point. We are not on the same journey!! We all have shit holding us back, weather it’s health, body type, mindset, finances, attitude etc. Follow your own path and don’t look back. Strive for progress NOT perfection and last but not least, know WHY you’re doing it. Anyway, just a little Thursday morning motivation for ya - whether you need it or not! Cause I know I needed it this morning. Take these moments and make them yours! #thursdaymotivation #progressnotperfection #babysteps #yxe #livingskies #morningwalkrun #couchto5k
