While knee deep in studying for a midterm this weekend and adjusting to Jon’s shift work (catching quick chats when we can), I came across one of my favourite quotes While our situation might be the extreme of follow your dreams, take a moment to read this I think it speaks to many of us in different ways. Happy Monday! ... For what it’s worth...... It’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things that you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again. -F. Scott Fitzgerald : @jillcoursenphoto

Who else is coming out of their holiday slumber tomorrow!? I found this holiday season extra quiet and slow, and I’m feeling grateful for the rest and a whole lotta doing nothing that it brought! I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling ready to ride, sweat, and stretch this month! If you’re looking for a covid friendly way to get back into the swing, our virtual yoga sessions start January 12! Classes will be live streamed but also available as recordings. Monthly passes available or register for the entire series at a discounted rate See the Facebook event or website for more details.

Try these check ins before you ride! Are you clenching your jaw? Can you soften the tongue, wiggle the jaw and even do a little TMJ massage to bring attention to this area of the body. are you tensing your shoulders? Try some shoulder rolls, shake it out and allow your shoulders to soften away from your ears.... bring your awareness to your breath. Try placing one hand on your heart and the other on your stomach. Close your eyes and take a few rounds of deep breath. You can also try moving your breath into the belly (diaphragmatic breathing or belly breath). Bringing our awareness to the breath helps us to soften, relax and bring ourselves into the present moment

Welcome 2021! A new year usually includes renewed energy to plan and goal set. But let’s not forget to take time to celebrate our accomplishments! Writing to-do lists and goal setting can be easy, but how often do you actually take time to write out the things you’ve accomplished? ... I started doing this practice a few years ago and found it to be so inspiring. Reflecting back and celebrating successes (no matter how big or small) can help inspire your intentions for the new year. Instead of coming at your goals from a place of guilt or shame, you begin to cultivate and manifest from a place of gratitude and expansion All of us had experiences this past year that we can learn from. That we can celebrate. And that we can grow and expand upon. What did you accomplish?

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported MEA this year! 2020 brought new challenges for small businesses everywhere. It was a little unnerving and definitely uncomfortable to leave the familiar, in search of new ways to provide yoga. But I am so grateful for the opportunities it provided! Including sharing practice with others across the province, the country, and even other countries! Thank you my friends. I truly enjoyed connecting with each and every one of you. ...Wishing you and yours all the best in 2021! ... Today’s annual practice I like to practice December 31st as the ultimate savasana. I reflect back on my past year, I breathe deeply and bring awareness to how my mind and body feel, noticing the changes and echo of movement from another wonderful (and perhaps challenging) year. I send love and gratitude to myself and those around me that showed up and were truly present in the practice of this thing called life. I take time to release what has not served me so that the path to my intentions for the coming year can be clearer

I’m so excited for our next round of yoga that starts tomorrow (there’s still time to register!) I’ve been reflecting on the evolution of my own yoga practice and what I choose to incorporate into classes. I initially began yoga looking for strength. While yoga has certainly helped me improve my core and strength, over time I’ve realized that there is so much more to it than just that.... Now, my practice also incorporates functional movement, breathwork, and meditation (something I would’ve never imagined when I first began!) Whether it’s riding, yoga or anything else in your life - each experience, each person, each horse, is a teacher. Honour your journey and find gratitude for each stepping stone that’s lead you to this point

The only limits you have, are the limits you believe. As 2020 draws to a close, ask yourself What limiting beliefs can I release?

Hey everyone, I'm getting so excited for our next round of yoga that starts this coming Tuesday! If you've already registered, you can expect an email later th...is weekend with details. If you haven't yet, it's not too late I've been asked how much experience with yoga is needed for these classes? The answer is none. Stepping stones are provided through every pose and sequence. You always have the option to follow along at your own pace, whether as a beginner or a seasoned yogi. MY question is, are you looking for a safe space to connect with yourself and explore both mind and body? If the answer is yes, this series is for you. We'll be using a combination of breathwork, yoga (both for stretching and strengthening), mindfulness, and introducing meditation over the 12 weeks. I can't wait!

Ask yourself - am I doing the best I can? Some days our best might be getting out of bed. Or making sure the kids made it to their online class. Our best could be making it to the barn just to give our horse a hug or a good brush. Other times, it could be tackling the to-do lists or having a stellar ride.... Any time you hear that voice in your head, or you feel guilt, shame, or whatever else might be coming up. Ask, am I doing the best I can? Chances are, you are. Be kind to yourself. You are doing your best. You are showing up. That’s what counts

Surround yourself with people that reflect who you want to be and how you want to feel, energies are contagious ... Tonight, I’d like to send a loud, love-filled message to all my girlfriends: To the ones who text/call/zoom/audio clip to check in on me. ... To the one who sacrificed an entire weekend to help me car shop and decorate my tree. To the one who sends me encouraging snail mail and also, meals. & to the one who makes me meals. To the one who patiently listens to all my fur babe stresses. To the one who’s been by my side through this wild ride known as school. To the ones who encourage and inspire my boss babe dreams through their own courage and aspirations. You have all lifted me up more than you’ll ever know. I only hope I show you the same love and support. I love you all so so much and if covid wasn’t a thing, I’d be giving you all big warm hugs. I hope you feel them
