In defining what it means to always doing the right & ethical thing. Ultimately, "don't be evil" seems to be the easiest way to summarize it.

Hoping this might inspire someone ... Romeo collided with a steel post last April, completely shattering his entire right hip. At first, the question was, "Will he even make it?", which slowly evolved into, "How will ever walk properly again?" After seeing his resolve & warrior attitude, we realised Romeo was not just going to make it, he was going to bounce with aplomb! It's been a long haul, but ten months to the day later, thanks to hints he was giving Lexi, this happened ...... I was upstairs making supper when Lexi texted saying she was gonna hop on Romeo, so i grabbed my camera & trotted out to the arena. As i came around the back of the barn i saw that she was already on his back, and sobbing into his mane, him beaming with pride. If i'd waited until i got closer, vied for a better angle, changed lenses, anything ... i would have missed this entirely. Instead, i just swung the camera up & stabbed the shutter release; the result was grainy, barely in focus, the background was horrendous and there was no thought given to composition whatsoever. I got several other images afterwards, but i'll treasure this one forever. This image is a perfect illustration of a lesson from a photojournalism course i took with Robert Del Tredici. During one of his classes i remember him saying over & over, "Just take the shot!" The point being; it might not be in perfect focus or exposed correctly, composition could be non-existent with a horrendous background, but you may capture something that no one will ever see again. So, if anyone is struggling with "taking the shot", just do it. Take the shot; you may create something that no one will ever see again, including you. See more

"Red sky at night, sailor's delight; red sky in the morning, sailors take warning" This sunrise did indeed herald a tremendous downpour!
