Hello everyone - just a quick update. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, there will no longer be an online 50/50 draw. Hey everyone. The virtual walk is weeks away! We have been experiencing some glitches on our website. We apologize for the inconvenience. But please keep trying! And you can always download a pledge form to take donations that way. Reminder this year we have 3 prizes. 1- for Most Raised - self explanatory. 2 - Most Creative - figure out a way to 'walk' with your family and friends in a fun way - you can do this by costume, they place you walk and photos you are able to get.....whatever you can think of to have a creative virtual walk. And 3 - Farthest Away - this means the 'walker' or participant on your team that takes a photo or video and tags your team from the most distant location! Once the website is up and running we will send out another notification. We are also planning on having a 50/50 so stay tuned and keep planning! :) Dont forget to include a hashtag so its easier for us find you. Sadly but not surprisingly we have now cancelled our Spring Baby Love event Please, let’s all still celebrate WDSD with all of the energy we have built up from staying home haha Let’s all share our WDSD celebrations with the world on all Social Media!!!... March 21, are you ready to rock your socks
Good morning, I felt it was important to reach out to everyone today as this is a tough time in our world as we know it. We have had to follow suit and cancel all of our social events. I know that our membership was looking forward to these events for so many reasons. One reason being, we have the need to connect with families that are experiencing life as we are.... We have one thing in common for sure, and that is that we love someone with Down syndrome. In the day and age of Social Media, there truly is no better time for this to have have happened. We have the option to phone, Facetime, Facebook, twitter, Facebook messenger etc. one another to make sure that we all stay connected and feel loved and supported. If any one of our families feels the need to reach out, do so, in what ever way you like and we will do our very best to assist with your needs. The Manitoba Down syndrome society is always here for you it just might look a little different than what we are used to. Thank you from everyone at the Manitoba Down syndrome society

Cancellation of events: Hello members and friends of the Manitoba Down Syndrome society. In light of the current concern surrounding the Corona Virus and our children having compromised Immune Systems, we believe it is in everyone’s best interest to cancel this years Pancake Breakfast that was to be held on March 22nd, 2020.... We will be postponing the viewing of Normie that was to be shown on March 21st, 2020 for the same reason. This was an easy decision knowing how many of our children battle with health issues, and we know that you all understand where this is coming from; we thank you for your understanding. For those of you that have purchased Pancake Breakfast tickets, please know that you will fully reimbursed, just please understand this could take some time. As far as the Normie event goes, we will suspend the event and have to start over when we announce when this will take place; date TBA. Baby Love will be another event we will determine closer to as we hope that this Virus gets under control before the situation worsens. Please take care of yourselves and again we appreciate your understanding. Kris Yunker MDSS President
