This wonderful woman was quoted as loving animals more than people! Please consider supporting our shelter by donating to [email protected]. We have over 80 ferrets in care at this time and your donation will certainly help. Tax receipts issued for donations of $20.00 and up.

Cooked up 3 chickens from Costco this weekend. Made 21 containers of chicken puree. The 5 seniors in care that have 4pureed kibble/pureed chicken meals a day will make short work of this vat of pureed chicken!

Only one missing is 'he bites'.... Pets aren't a commodity to be traded and sold.... they're a commitment!

Updated duck soup recipe. Needed updating so thank you for that Charla. New products available since initial blog of 2015. Initial recipe was approved by our vet with over 30 years ferret experience and this version (in use for over 4 years) has also been given his stamp of approval. A person should not judge a rescue's expertise on one blog. 20 years of being invited to do a ferret seminar on ferret care to the second year vet tech class speaks for itself. I will not defend myself further. PS: Charla, you missed the most important error in my blog - I did not strongly recommend that using duck soup should be used after consulting with your vet and getting veterinarian help for your sick ferret; so thank you for that!

Author The Manitoba Ferret Association & No Kill Shelter Canada We also have not been able to fundraise through the sale of our bedding. Thank goodness we were able to sell all our ferret masks (thank you Adrienne) and all of our 2021 calendars (thank you Fred). That really helped. Some of our members were able to help the shelter. I know everyone is struggling financially so this was particularly appreciated. We received $500.00 from Tami L. and her mom, we received $250.00 ...from Gerald, we received 3 donations of supplies of food, litter etc from Tami H., Dan & Mellissa and the Edmunds family. And finally, we qualified for a grant of $2,163.70 from The COVID Bridge Program. If you hear lots of laughter and cheering from North Kildonan, that just might be me expressing my joy and relief. Reply Commented on by Deb Kelley 7m Author The Manitoba Ferret Association & No Kill Shelter Canada It has been difficult during this time as the shelter has not been able to do any adoptions but we were still accepting surrenders.
