From the Pembina Valley Multifaith Council: "As faith leaders and people of faith in the Pembina Valley we feel it is important to request the Morden SEMHL Sr. Men's hockey team change their name which currently includes a word widely recognized as a racial slur against indigenous peoples. We believe it is important for faith leaders to publicly speak out against injustice and oppression and seek reconciliation with the indigenous people of Canada. To that end we add our voices to the growing chorus of those who seek to see this name changed."

Announcing MMC's 150 Days of Solidarity This year marks 150 years since Manitoba became Canada’s fifth province. Because of the current COVID-19 situation, our provincial officials have announced that all Manitoba 150 initiated events are being paused until 2021.
