Manitobans for the Arts 28.12.2020

All Winnipeggers are invited to take part in the City of Winnipeg’s multi-year budget 2021 update, by sharing what they value most and how that may have changed since the COVID-19 pandemic. This survey is an opportunity to communicate to City Council the impact of COVID-19 on the cultural sector and the need for investment in the sector to ensure recovery and resilience. Please share with your networks!... https://engage.winnipeg.ca/engagebudget/survey_tools/survey

The results of our last survey revealed an interest in further discussion around engaging your audience and stakeholders during the time of COVID. We've assembled a great panel of arts leaders from Manitoba and across Canada; individuals who are building online and two-way communications with their community even while people might not be able to gather in person. Please join us on June 23rd at 3pm CT via Zoom for this discussion. Register in advance to receive Zoom details... closer to the event. https://us8.campaign-archive.com/ - The Board, Manitobans for the Arts

The Manitobans for the Arts board stands in solidarity with Black, Indigenous and other POC and minority groups in Winnipeg, Canada and around the world. Please consider attending Friday’s rally organized by Justice 4 Black Lives Winnipeg at 6pm at the Legislative Building. The event will include speakers from Winnipeg’s Black community including MLA Uzoma Asagawara (Union Station), Nadine Sookermany from the Women’s Health Clinic, and community advocate and filmmaker Adeline Bird. #justice4blacklives Canadian Network for Arts & Learning has published a newsletter with resources that address antiracism education in the Arts, as well as highlight Black artist-educators and organizations in Canada.
