We were trotting up a storm last night at MRDA! Check out the HUGE smiles we saw from some of our fantastic riders!

Tonight we worked on our story telling skills by creating them on our horses! We stretched our arms up really high, and we worked on sitting tall in our saddles. It is National Coaches week and our Instructors and Instructors in training deserve a HUGE shout out! Our Instructors plan out each lesson every week. They work with our volunteer therapists to determine goals for each of our riders and they make sure the kiddos have fun while working towards those goals. Our instructors are all certified by The Canadian Association of Therapeutic Riding and our Instructors in Training are all working towards certification. They do all of this as VOLUNTEERS!!!! Manitoba Riding for the Disabled Association is currently seeking volunteer horse leaders for the upcoming Fall Program. Volunteers are asked to volunteer for ninety minutes once/ week for ten weeks (Monday or Wednesday evenings) leading horses for children aged five - fifteen with a variety of abilities. The program runs out of West Wind Stables in Oak Bluff. MRDA is also looking for volunteer leaders and sidewalkers to act as spares in the event a leader is away. Spares are not required weekly, but are required to attend training and orientation. Leaders are required to have horse experience.
