**Important message from the MCNS Chair of Board of Directors** Good afternoon dedicated MCNS families. First off please let me say that I hope everyone, their families and their loved ones are all healthy and that life has not been too negatively impacted by COVID-19. ... Manotick Cooperative Nursery School is run by a board of directors, and as a board we have been conducting regular meetings throughout the pandemic to monitor the situation as it pertains to us as a school. The board met last night and after a lengthy meeting it was decided to not open for the 2020/2021 school year. It is with heavy hearts that we bring this news to you and we thank you for your ongoing patience and support through these incredibly unprecedented and tough times. This decision was not made lightly and we hope that all families past present and future can understand that this decision was made with the safety of staff and students in mind. We want to continue to be a pillar in the community and be able to offer excellent programming for years to come; and in order to do this we need to remain closed this school year. There are so many families in Manotick and the surrounding area who have had amazing experiences at MCNS, myself included, and we can all attest to the positive impact this school has made on our children. MCNS is not going anywhere! We are just taking a little rest as my son would say :). Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any further comments, questions or concerns. ****** VIRTUAL TOUR ****** Even though the nursery school is closed due to COVID-19, you can still take a 'virtual tour' of the classroom and our yard. Check out the link below for a tour! Many thanks to the Manotick BIA who had partnered with Digital Main Street Ontario and acquired a Google 360 camera. As a member on the Manotick BIA, we were fortunate enough to have 360 photos taken and uploaded to Google so that families could see the inside and outside of our classroom via Google Maps Street View. **Message from the Chair of our Board of Directors** Good morning MCNS families, We have all experienced an extremely difficult and unprecedented summer and I truly hope that everyone and their loved ones are safe and healthy. ... Unfortunately MCNS has not been immune to the effects of COVID-19 and we have decided as a board to not open our school in September 2020. We do fully intend to open as soon as the board feels it is safe to do so, we just don't believe that opening at the beginning of September is the best option for MCNS. The Manotick Cooperative Nursery School has been a part of the community for over 60 years and this will not be the end of our story. We are planning on monitoring the situation very closely to come up with a reopening strategy that ensures when we do open, we do it at the right time and we hopefully avoid any potential future closures. There is no set date for a reopening plan however we do hope to open as soon as possible. We hope that all parents and families understand the reasons for delaying our reopening and that we continue to have your support.
