100% agree! I encourage you to believe this too. And if you struggle to, look at what holds you back from believing/living this truth. Maybe it’s a voice that no longer serves its purpose. Maybe it’s time to address the feeling of shame that holds you back. Maybe its something else. Whatever holds you back from allowing yourself to have self-compassion, maybe its time to find out what it is and how to have it have less power over you.
Gaslighting makes you question your sanity, your experience. It’s a term that comes from an old black & white movie. It can be malicious (as in the movie) or it can be a coping mechanism that a person may not know they are doing. That’s not to excuse the behaviour; you still have the right to set healthy boundaries. Either way, the tips below can be helpful. Be safe!
