Maple Academy of Dance 31.01.2021

One week of virtual classes done! We are so incredibly proud of our students for their resilience and discipline as they adjusted to online dance classes and online school. As challenging as these times are for us adults, our children are missing out on so much more. Yet those smiles on Zoom were just as big as their smiles when in the studio. Keep up the excellent work! . . . .... #mapleacademyofdance #dancingtogetherapart #MADfam #mapleacademy #dance #dancing #dancestudio #danceclass #danceeducation #maple #mapledance #vaughan #vaughanmills #woodbridgedance #richmondhilldance #virtuallearning #vaughandance #vaughandancestudio #mapledancestudio #23years #23seasons #season23 #kidsdance #childrendance #recreationaldance #competitivedance #parttimedance #precompetitive #vaughanmoms #dancesafe

Start each day with a grateful heart. Look for all the beautiful reasons in life to be happy. Take some time today to appreciate the small things. Spread good vibes everywhere you go. Surround yourself with doers, dreamers, achievers and positive thinkers. Before you fall asleep at night say something positive to yourself. Most of all let your unique awesomeness and vibrant energy inspire confidence in others. You got this! . . .... #mapleacademyofdance #MADfam #mapleacademy #dance #dancing #dancestudio #danceclass #positivevibes #positivequotes #danceeducation #maple #mapledance #vaughan #vaughanmills #woodbridgedance #richmondhilldance #vaughandance #vaughandancestudio #mapledancestudio #23years #23seasons #season23 #kidsdance #childrendance #recreationaldance #competitivedance #parttimedance #precompetitive #vaughanmoms #dancesafe

She enjoys improv, spending time with her friends at the studio, and she strives to learn new things. Tamia loves dancing at MAD because all of the teachers are so nice and caring, and she always has fun in class. She also enjoys her weekly chats with Miss Mackenzie and taking her classes. Our annual Toy Drive has launched! We will be participating with the @cityofvaughan in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish. The program supplies registered charitable organizations, social service agencies, churches, community centres throughout the GTA with new, unwrapped toys and financial donations. We will be collecting donations of new unwrapped toys for children newborn to 18 years old until Saturday December 5th. Gift cards, electronic games, sports equipment, purses/backpacks, cosmetics, personal care packs are also welcome for older children. On behalf of the thousands of children and families who will benefit from your kindness, we hope you consider joining our MAD family with this meaningful cause. Together, we are putting a smile on a child’s face this holiday season!

Today is World Diabetes Day and we are doing an alumni spotlight! Deanna Paolantonio is a former competitive dancer with MAD and is the founder and director of D-Dance. Her workshops, pictured here from previous years, use dance as a tool for promoting creativity, confidence, and positive body image in students. I have loved dance in all its forms for as long as I can remember. Dance is the one thing that captured my attention, held my interest, and constantly inspires me to... learn more. In April of 2014 my life, and my relationship with my body changed forever when I was diagnosed with type one diabetes (T1D). T1D is the autoimmune type of diabetes and means that my body cannot make its own insulin. Having T1D means constant calculations, monitoring, and adjustments. It affects every part of life - especially exercise and dance. In the midst of learning how to live my new life as a T1D I never stopped dancing. Why? Simply because it brought me joy. Dance gave me a sense of community, and took my mind away from the difficulty I was facing even it was only for an hour. I founded a non-profit D-Dance Inc. so that other T1D dancers would have a resource to go to and people to connect with who are facing the same challenge. I believe everyone can and should dance with diabetes. Deanna Paolantonio See more

Today is World Kindness Day! Little acts of kindness go a long way to make someone feel special. Holding the door open for someone, buying a coffee for a friend, or giving a compliment are all simple ways we can spread joy and positivity to those around us. How will you spread kindness today?

Congratulations to our October dancer of the month, Emily! Emily is in Miss Antonietta’s Thursday Ballet/Tap class. Her favourite subject is Tap because she loves to tap her shoes and the sound it creates. Emily likes to dance because she gets to dress up and learn some fun moves while listening to songs she likes. She loves MAD because everyone is very nice to her at the studio and she loves Miss Antonietta because she gives her stickers! Great job Emily! Keep up the great work!

The Show Must Go On! So true! We are so proud of our students for their perseverance and commitment. They had to give up so much including four Dance Competitions and two Year End Shows. This ad reminds us that we did not give up hope and created a unique way of showcasing our recital at the drive-in because The Show Must Go On. Thank you to all our students who participated and our clients for supporting us through the event. You are all rockstars! https://youtu.be/gQdLD6kk960
