Discussion have taken place around hosting the popular Carols Afloat event this year. With the recent restrictions issued by the Province, on Social Gatherings and Events, it does not provide the opportunity for us to host the event. Hopefully you can put your decorating plans on hold until next year and we can make it even a bigger and better event for everyone.... Take care and BE SAFE everyone.

As some of you may know I was / am responsible for the Wednesday Night Movies that we showed at the Maple Bay Yacht Club. Due to COVID-19 we had to stop in early March 2020. However I was lucky to be able to show this gem before the shutdown. My plans are to show this again when we can restart in 2021. It is simply superb!!!! Fishermans Friends... With the gloominess of the past week I thought it a good idea to pick things up - here is an image of the Whitsunday Islands that I took in Queensland Australia. The white sand here is so pure it was used to grind the mirror for the Hubble Telescope!

WOW! - love was in the air this afternoon in Maple Bay. Lois Smith celebrated her 90th. birthday young. And boy did we do it right! Here is a photo that I was able to get before all of the sail boats, power boats, kayaks, paddle boards, - heck people were on anything that floated to come by and wish our wonderful lady her special day. I will have more images in the next few days. Stay tuned my friends.

Maple Bay Yacht Club is seeking a candidate for the position of Dockmaster. Under the direction of the Club Manager, the Dockmaster is responsible for daily club moorage operations, performing general maintenance care and upkeep of clubhouse, grounds and marine facilities, including small repairs, yard maintenance and dock maintenance, maintaining club security and other general or assigned duties which occur from time to time. QUALIFICATIONS:... Good mechanical knowledge and basic electrical for the maintenance of equipment, buildings and docks. Strong boating background preferred. Experience with docks and/or marinas maintenance a plus. Possess strong organizational and time management skills. Possess excellent attention to detail and communication skills (oral and written). Basic computer skills. Pleasure Craft Operators Licence. This is a permanent (shared) position and the successful candidate will require a criminal record check. Working hours may vary throughout the year and will include weekend work and Statutory Holidays. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
