Maple Creek in Bloom

The marigolds have moved into their forever home. Now I am hardening them off. This is all about preparing them to be outside. I have mine in a sheltered spot, monitoring them for sun, wind and water. If conditions get too extreme I just pop them in the house. I am watering with a transplanting fertilizer like 10-52-10 to boost root growth.

Kudos to Claire and Ross Pollock for a creative way to use their marigolds. They received their seed in the Soirée Swag Bags. Claire got busy in March and got them planted then transplanted. They found their final spot in window boxes and then the crafty couple dreamed up a set of steps to proudly display them! Does anyone else have a creative display of marigolds?

Communities in Bloom put a call out to garden clubs, horticultural societies, and landscapers to focus on the colour yellow because yellow is the international colour of hope. - #hopeisgrowing
