The year 2020 is coming to a close in the next few weeks. Who would have thought that when we closed down on March 16th that we wouldn’t see many of our friends for the rest of the year! I am very excited to tell you that we finally have all the policies and protocols in place for opening up Mapleridge on January 18, 2021. It has taken many long hours and hard work from our office staff to finally get to where we are. You will be hearing from Heather McGinn over the next f...ew days about our re-opening and protocols. Please check our website and Facebook pages in the coming days. I am reminding us all that we must be patient with each other once we are open. Life at Mapleridge will not be the same during this COVID-19 Pandemic as we cannot stop and socialize with each other over a cup of coffee/tea. We will be holding our Annual meeting (which should have taken place this past June) hopefully in early spring. If anyone is interested in any upcoming Board of Directors' vacancies, please speak to Heather to get more details. Covid-19 Update The Board and Staff are working hard to get Mapleridge open. There will be many changes, all designed to keep our members safe. These changes are demanding a lot of planning and ultimately a lot of training, so please be patient. You will be contacted as soon as everything is in place. Where could you find 600 balloons and 350 trees, Mapleridge Recreation Centre of course. On November 15th, they held their annual Christmas Market & Cafe and fl...ooded the centre with these delightful decorations. Local vendors filled the centre displaying their creations while Christmas shoppers enjoyed browsing their wares. There was holiday cookies, baked goods, preserves, gifts, frozen meals. All funds raised will go back in the centre to support their regular programming. When guests needed a break, they stopped in at the Café to enjoy a selection of homemade goodies, breakfast treats, etc. by their in house Chef Molly. See more

Sgt. Wilson's Airforce Show, originally from the Netherlands and are touring throughout Canada, presented the vintage sound of the 40-50's. Highlighting songs b...y the Andrews Sisters, Glenn Miller, Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe, etc. The feet were tapping and hands were clapping! The doors opened at 1:00pm for the afternoon performance and then again at 6:00pm for the evening performance. Guests enjoyed both hot and cold refreshments halfway through the performance. I'm really sorry if you missed them, they were truly entertaining! Tickets are still available for tonights performance. $20 - worth it! Unfortunately no video was allowed or I would have provided you with a sample.
