... a message from the Near North District School Board ... Dear Parents and Guardians,... The Province of Ontario has declared a second state of emergency and imposed a stay-at-home order effective Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., as outlined in a provincial news release. An extension of remote learning was announced for schools in Southern Ontario, but schools in the north, including Near North District School Board, will continue to operate in-person. MacTier Public School will continue to engage in virtual learning. Below are changes that affect staff and students in NNDSB: - Masks are now required for students in Grades 1-3 (in-person learning) - Masks are now required outdoors (in-person learning) - There are enhanced screening protocols (in-person learning) - There is expanded targeted testing (in-person learning) We will continue to share information with you as it becomes available. Please know that we take the safety of our students, staff, and community with the utmost importance. ... a message from the school ... < Important News and Updates for Return to School: > As we welcome students and staff back to school on Monday, January 11th, please consider for students: - Bring 2 MASKS to school each day (for AM and PM) *Bussed students require a mask for the bus... - Bring back INDOOR SHOES and personal SCHOOL SUPPLIES - Bring back borrowed school TEXTBOOKS (return to your teacher) - Bring warm clothes for cold weather and outside time (MITTS/GLOVES, WINTER COATS, SNOW PANTS, ETC.) **VERY IMPORTANT: Students who borrowed a school device, either an iPad or MacBook, must return the device on or before MONDAY, January 11th to the MAIN OFFICE. We have students who will require these devices for their learning, so please ensure those are returned. Thank you! We remain a no egg, no nuts and no scents school.
