Last night we had the privilege to deliver letters from Santa all over Mapleton. For us it was such a wonderful way to end this year. Thank you Mapleton for your continued love and support. From all of us we would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday!
Hey parents! Just a reminder that tomorrow Tuesday December 22nd starting at 6pm both Drayton and Moorefield firefighters will be out delivering the replies that Santa gave us. Don’t be alarmed if there is a fire truck in front of your home! Also we will be delivering to all Drayton and Moorefield address in town or rural! We are really excited! See you all tomorrow!!
Moorefield Station responding to a 2 vehicle MVC on Wellington Road 86 at Sideroad 6. Please avoid the area.
Dual station response tonight for a structure fire of a detached garage. Focus was put on protecting exposures. Although it was impossible to save the garage the big win was the house less then 10 feet away completely untouched. Great work by everyone on scene!
Firefighter Abell took it upon himself to make new steps for Tanker 77. Taking ownership and having pride in what you do is a great thing and motivates others to do the same! #proudtoserve
Both stations responded this afternoon to a chimney fire at a home. Upon arrival light smoke was reported. Within minutes conditions changed and flames were visible from the roof. Quick work from exterior and interior teams allowed us to save this home with minimal damage! Salvage teams made sure that items inside like a Christmas tree, presents, furniture and other personal possessions were moved out of the affected area to keep damage and loss to a minimum. Great work by everyone on scene!
Just got back from the tour with Santa and we are absolutely humbled! We are so incredibly proud to serve such an wonder community. Santa thanks you, we thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend!
Here is a great tip as we continue to serve up fire safety in the kitchen. If you have a small grease fire on the stove, slide a lid over the pot and turn off the stove. Don’t panic and NEVER use water! #firepreventionweek https://youtu.be/Zf0cqpa8SLk
Fire Prevention week is here! The theme this year is Serve up fire safety in the kitchen. Check out this great video from the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs to kick things off https://youtu.be/9EVHiDOkbkM
What a great turnout we had! Lots of interested potential recruits had hands on learning with everything from our pumper, auto extrication, SCBA, and fire prevention to name a few!
Recruit Demo Day starts today at 1pm at the Moorefield Station. Interested in being a recruit? Make sure you come out and see what’s it all about!
Slight change to our recruitment open house. We will be running it out of our Moorefield station only that day and everyone that is interested in recruitment are welcome to attend!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Grose! Two of Mapleton’s finest tied the knot today!
Today on Firefighters’ National Memorial Day we remember and honour our fallen brothers and sisters that made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Teb’s Convenience & Arlie Zantinge deserve a big huge THANK YOU from us. We were at a long call at the beginning of this month and they both provided us with food and drinks while on scene. It means so much to us to have such wonderful support from the community we serve!
Another long night for Moorefield Station. Crews remain on scene of a structure fire from last night. Many thanks for assistance from @mintofiredept , Listowel Station, @GWParamedic & @OPP_WR
On the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks members of Mapleton Fire Rescue went to ground zero to pay their respects and show their solidarity with the world. This flag was brought back and hangs in our Drayton Station, it reminds us of the sacrifice so many made. Never forget.
Dual Station response to 6th Line for reports of fire in a garage. Lucky for this homeowner they had a fire extinguisher and were able to successfully stop what would have been a disaster. Do you have a working fire extinguisher at home?
