CLEAR YOUR MIND OF CAN’T.... all reasoning was convincing me not to go for a run. Its -20’c, its icy roads, its warmer inside in front of the TV, I don’t like being cold!!!! Although many will think its crazy, it felt amazing afterwards. Nothing clears your mind (and nose) like movement outside. When we decide to move past all the reasons we can not do something, it seems easier to face the next challenge. Pilates, formerly known as Contrology, was created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s. He developed the exercises as a form of physical rehabilitation for both himself and fellow officers in WWI. He was a boxer, self-defence instructor and gymnast that believed in the power of functional movement and keeping the body strong while aging. It became popular with sport professionals that still uses it as a way of condition-training and injury prevention. The exercises focus on stren...gthening the core and deeper stabilizing muscles that normally get forgotten.
