Hello everyone, Wed June 17, 2020 Today is a beautiful sunny day in Kingston. I hope everyone is keeping healthy and safe. The clinic has reopened. We have made all the adjustments as prescribed by the Ontario Ministry of Health and The College of Chiropodists to ensure there is a high level of cleanliness and infection control in the clinic. We have installed protective barriers in the reception and treatment rooms.... Patients are requested to wear a mask and sanitizer is provided to wash your hands when you enter the clinic. Please call the office to schedule an appointment. We are limiting attendance of the appointment to one person unless a care giver or parent must attend. Please do not attend the clinic if you have a fever or cold. Please read the following post which gives you a guideline of the policies and procedures the clinic is following. We are seeing patients Monday to Friday. Thank you everyone for your understanding and we look forward to serving you again. Take the COVID-19 self-assessment if you think you have symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has it. This will help you determine if you need to seek further care. ontario.ca/dw6j

Footcare in Fall Another amazing summer is over and a beautiful fall is here already. As the hot and humid days get replaced by breezy and chilly days we hope that everybody stays healthy. Summer time is for sure fun time and we hope everyone must have had a lot of fun with their family and friends. A lot of the time we do not realize is that summer fun can be really harsh on our feet. We tend to wear flip flops throughout the summer but flip flops do not support your feet an...d can give you arch and heel pain. Moreover, summer can leave your feet dehydrated and wear out your skin and nails. Foot care in fall is very crucial to keep your feet healthy and beautiful throughout the cold weather. It is really important to take care of your feet before and after they start to stay inside your comfy and gorgeous winter boots. Here are some foot care tips that can help you maintain your foot health through fall and winter. 1. Wash your feet in warm (not hot) water, using a mild soap daily. 2. Dry out your feet carefully, especially between your toes and exfoliate your feet using a file but only once a week and that too on dry feet. 3. Always try to wear cotton socks and change them daily. 4. Thoroughly check your feet and between your toes to make sure there are no cuts, cracks, ingrown toenails, blisters, etc. Bacteria and fungi grow faster when these conditions prevail. 5. Apply a good lotion to your feet to keep them moisturized throughout the chilly weather. 6. Compression stockings are designed to keep your feet at an optimal temperature along with providing compression, so they will be especially beneficial in the cold. 7. Choose the right kind of winter boots and stabilize and relieve your feet with custom made Orthotics. The right kind of winter boots not only help keep your feet supported but also keep them warm. 8. Dry Your Boots and Shoes Out- Before going back outside in your boots or shoes again, be sure to dry them out thoroughly. Having dry shoes will help prevent your feet from getting cold quickly as well as prevent the growth of fungi and bacteria. 9. See your Chiropodist regularly to treat any foot problems. See more
