Attended brunch at Marathon Legion Branch#183. This was for members of the military, families, sponsors, donors and volunteers who helped to bring the LAV 111 p...roject to Marathon. We were greeted at the door by the Gingras family- Chantal, Bonnie, Carly and Crystal and some refreshing punch. See more

Today in Marathon we remembered our veterans past and present as the town officially commemorated its LAV III monument to those who served in Afghanistan.

The Marathon Oldtimers Heroes & Hockey tournament is raising money for its local legion. Tonight they honoured a new generation of their veterans and their love...d ones who came home for the weekend to celebrate. The whole community was involved, from the decorations made by local students to the dedicated volunteers serving the meal. It was such an honour to be here to witness such an incredible community spirit. See more
