Wireless technology has become an essential part of work, school, and play, and our reliance on this technology has been especially highlighted during COVID-19. Take a peek into the fascinating story of Guglielmo Marconi and explore how the dream of being always connected began right here in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia with the first permanent transatlantic wireless station. https://www.pc.gc.ca//lhn-nhs/ns/marconi/decouvrir-discover #InThisTogether... #RediscoverNovaScotia See more

With the technology we have today, communication is something we often take for granted. Did you know that on top of sending the first message across the Atlantic, Marconi was also responsible for creating ship-to-shore communication? His work not only made it possible for people to communicate over great distances; he also helped improve the safety of life at sea. You can learn more about Marconi and his contributions to society at our visitor centre, located in Table Head near Glace Bay.
