Canada planning to reopen U.S. border Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government have begun working towards reopening the Canada-U.S. border, according to Bloomberg. One approach would be to adopt a new system that allows vaccinated people to travel between the two countries without the need for COVID-19 testing or for the mandatory 14-day quarantine. ... This would be in line with Health Minister Patty Hajdu saying that Canada will be considering the use of vaccine passports that would allow vaccinated people to travel. Trudeau has mentioned that Canada is working with the European Union to align their approaches. The E.U. is already working towards ending its internal travel restrictions. As expected, the border closure affected Canada economically. The tourism and airline sectors were particularly hard-hit. The reopening of the border is expected to be gradual, and will depend on the number of COVID-19 cases in both countries. We all wait for the reopening of US-Canada border!

Reunite with your family in Canada If you have family in Canada, you may be exempt from coronavirus-related travel restrictions. You may even be allowed to reunite with your family members who are temporary residents in Canada.... If you are an immediate family member of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and you wish to come to Canada to reunite with your family, you must plan to stay in Canada for 15 days or more. If you are an extended family member of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you should meet the same requirements as immediate family members. If your family member in Canada is staying there temporarily, you may still be allowed to visit them as long as you are an immediate family member. You must show that your travel is non-discretionary. For example, you are coming to live with your spouse or common-law partner. However, you cannot be travelling for tourism, recreation or entertainment. You should also ask about a written authorization to be allowed to enter Canada. Are you closest one in Canada or in your home country?

Are you a visitor in Canada? There are some options for you to stay longer: In general, visitor visas allow foreigners to live legally in Canada for up to six months. At the end of this period, the visitor’s legal status expires and they must leave Canada. A temporary policy allows visitors to apply for work permits... On August 24, 2020, IRCC introduced a special measure allowing foreign nationals who are in Canada on visitor status with a valid job offer to apply for an employer-specific work permit. Before, visitors would usually need to apply for their initial work permits before coming to Canada. If they were already in the country on visitor status when they were approved for the work permit, they would need to leave Canada and return in order to activate it. Applicant looking to benefit from this temporary measure must: have valid status in Canada as a visitor on the day they apply; have remained in Canada with valid status; have a valid job offer; submit an in-Canada application for an employer-specific work permit that is supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or an LMIA-exempt offer of employment, no later than August 31, 2021; and meet all other standard admissibility criteria, such as medical and criminal checks, among others. The temporary policy was first introduced to allow visitors who arrived in Canada during the time when coronavirus-related travel restrictions were introduced and has since been extended until August 31, 2021. If you know someone who is on a visitor status in Canada, share this information to them! This may be useful

Why Canada is focusing on immigration candidates living in the country With international travel low and immigration targets high, Canada has been opening pathways for domestic immigration candidates to apply for permanent residence. The Canadian government is depending on foreign nationals who are likely already living in Canada to meet its immigration targets for the year. Canada has set out to welcome 401,000 new permanent residents by the end of 2021. Normally, it is p...ossible to apply for Canadian immigration from overseas, but border restrictions make it difficult for approved permanent residents abroad to travel to Canada. Consequently, Canada must rise to the challenge of meeting its targets without relying on overseas candidates. The pandemic has thrust Canada’s economy into precarious territory, but experts say high levels of immigration will be an important tenant to long-term recovery. Those who are already living in Canada are likely to have Canadian work experience. According to a Statistics Canada study, these individuals fare better in the labour market by 8 per cent than those who do not have Canadian experience. Those with Canadian experience also fared better than overseas immigrants with pre-arranged employment. This may come down to multiple reasons. For example, those with experience have already settled in Canada, they have become more proficient in English or French, and they have learned more about Canadian work culture, which may be different than in their home country. Universities and colleges need more international students! Canada has updated its list of approved Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) that are currently permitted to welcome international students during the COVID-19 pandemic. A DLI is a school, university or college that is allowed to host international students. Canada had previously introduced travel restrictions on non-essential travel to curb the spread of COVID-19.... Travel restrictions had first included new international students. Only those who have a study permit or an approval issued on or before March 18 were allowed to travel to Canada. However, Canada has recently begun to ease restrictions to allow more international students to pursue their education in the country. Institutions who wish to make the list must have a COVID-19 readiness plan approved by their provincial or territorial government. Students who are enrolled in these approved DLIs are exempt from Canada’s travel restrictions, and will likely be granted entry to Canada by a border official upon arrival. Many prominent Ontario-based institutions have been added, such as the University of Waterloo, Ryerson University, OCAD University and the University of Windsor. In addition, travelers to Canada, particularly by air, are required to install the ArriveCAN mobile application. You will be required to submit your travel and contact information, your quarantine plan, as well as a daily COVID-19 symptom self assessment. A quarantine plan includes where you intend to quarantine, and how you are planning to obtain necessary items such as groceries and medicine. Many universities across the country, including in British Columbia and Ontario, have seen a spike in domestic enrolment and a drop in international enrolment. This is according to a study conducted by CourseCompare, a platform that helps connect students to courses and training programs. Write in comment below what do you think!

Canada is among the top countries considered to be ‘safe and stable’ for international students and has further improved its position as the ‘go-to’ study destination because of its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is according to two surveys conducted by Navitas Insights. In addition, the survey suggests that countries considered to be ‘safe and stable’ are not necessarily viewed as being ‘open and welcoming.’ However, Canada is one of the top countries that are cons...idered to be both. In fact, Canada has introduced some measures to allow international students to travel to their desired destination. Students who wish to travel to Canada only need to be attending a college or university that has obtained approval on its COVID-19 readiness plan from the provincial government in which the institution is in. It does not matter where the student is travelling from. The first survey was conducted in May 2020. Findings from that survey showed Canada as one of the countries who are ahead of the pack, alongside New Zealand and Australia. Navitas repeated the research in September 2020. Canada had improved its overall position since May, but was now competing with the United Kingdom for the top spot, instead of the Oceanic states. How many universities can you apply at the same time Let's start with colleges The number of applications that can be submitted to different colleges at the same time depends on the program. If this is a highly competitive program, and the applicant's data is rather mediocre, then we always recommend apply everywhere.... If the future student has IELTS Academic level 7.0 - 7.5, then this will automatically be included in the list of priority applicants. And if you also have high scores in the certificate / diploma in specialized subjects, it immediately increases the chances of admission. In this case, you can apply only to the most coveted college. If we talk about common programs like Business and Marketing, then there is no point in submitting everywhere, since the program can be offered by a hundred colleges. Most often we submit 2 applications: 1 Priority college 2 To another college "as a safety net" And now attention: Security Deposit and Application Fee With each submission, you must pay an Application Fee (usually around C $ 100) and then, if the college accepts you and is ready to take you to the program, then you receive an offer letter and in order to accept the offer you must pay a Security Deposit - a non-refundable payment. It can be C $ 1000-2000-4000 depending on the college. Upon payment, the college gives an Acceptance Letter, conditional for grade 11 students and Pathway students, or unconditional for everyone else. Now about universities Here we always recommend submitting at least 4 applications. By the way, through the unified system of the province of Ontario, you can submit several applications at once for the price of one Application Fee. We remind you that December is the hottest time for applications for September 2021. If you have not yet decided on a university / program or have decided, but feel that you need professional support for admission and obtaining a visa, then write to us urgently in direct. We provide full support at all stages from initial consultation to assistance in adaptation in Toronto and further in status changes up to obtaining a passport See more
