While the stats are American, the message is still the same for Canadians. Not only does it save tax payer money, but also often saves time for people to start seeing results. So many people do not need the extra referrals because the results will not change the treatment process. As a physio, we have the skills to help patients navigate this system which not only saves them from unecessary testing, but also helps direct them to the more appropriate testing sooner (when needed).

Do you have good posture? Don’t worry about it! It is unrealistic and unnecessary to try and maintain a perfect posture at all times! What IS important is that you keep moving and avoid prolonged positions. Physiotherapy can help you stay mobile, strong, and pain free!

Just another testament to the idea that our bodies were meant to move! If you are having trouble getting started because of different physical ailments, let me know and let's make a plan to get you going!

Did you know "Approximately 50,000 Canadians have a stroke each year; 75% of those surviving are left with some level of disability. Physiotherapy for stroke survivors is an integral part of the rehabilitation treatment plan. As members of stroke teams, physiotherapists address physical function issues and prevention of subsequent strokes, which are key determinants of quality of lif...e (QOL)." (Canadian Physiotherapy Association) If you or someone you know has suffered a stroke and have not been to see a Physiotherapist, I strongly urge you to find a Physio near you to help in your rehab journey.
