My piece for the BASNL Buds, Blooms and Berries exhibition is one piece in my study of the native NL lowbush blueberry plant. The changes and colours in the berries , leaves and stems continue to amaze me. I love them!
This lowbush blueberry watercolour is one of my pieces of our native Newfoundland and Labrador most-loved berries which I’ve been doing some up-close-and-personal studies of during the past year. It’s amazing to see the life cycle of these berries and the beauty of the plant from spring to winter. Later you’ll hear more about the exhibition Grounded in Memory, a collaborative exhibition of BASNL and the Craft Council of NL. There’ll be stories of my younger years on the blueberry patch and stories and artwork that you’ll love from the other exhibitors.
This spectacular yellow loosestrife by Kathie Chalker is likely in bloom now and waiting to be appreciated by you.
This spectacular piece by Sharon Goodyear will make you want to get up close and person with our provincial plant.
Check out more fabulous work, this piece by Sharon Goodyear, in the virtual art exhibition of BASNL.
Karen Seaward’s Asiatic Lily is another beautiful piece from our BASNL virtual exhibition. Hope you get to check it out!
