As this site also focuses on the Hamlet of Cargill, named after the famous lumber baron Henry Cargill, please note that we are hoping that 'History Comes Alive'... will be possible again this summer (Wednesdays to Sundays and holiday Mondays)! A number of volunteers have been working tirelessly to help make this possible. Attractions will, including Margaret's Mercantile, the Visitor Centre, train rides, an ice cream bar and, of course, BBQ's Wed., to Sun., from 11am to 2:30pm. We will also feature additional artwork and a new venture called Margaret's Treasurers. To kick off the season, we are hoping to host a GIANT YARD SALE (depending on COVID restrictions), the last weekend in May! Stay tuned for additional details! See more

The new owners of the building are doing some renovations, so things may look a little different than last year, but we promise to bring you the same unique and exceptional goods and service that you have come to expect! Margaret's Mercantile is set to open on the long weekend i...n May , and stay open until Thanksgiving ! That gives us almost 2 more months of experiencing Margaret's shopping and the Cargill/Greenock Swamp Visitors' Center !
