Good morning! As you know, today is the first day of the extended Ontario COVID-19 lockdown measures. In Ontario, Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OMPs) are not permitted to provide the important care and treatment to their patients, many of whom require manual osteopathy to alleviate pain and other life-altering symptoms that impact their daily lives. ... Please sign this petition and share with others if you believe that OMPs should be allowed return as essential workers to provide in-person healthcare to patients. http://chng.it/kCyfbR2KCB
Update We are halfway through the Ontario provincial COVID-19 shutdown that began on Dec 26 2020. Osteopathy services are not permitted to remain open during the current shutdown. At the beginning of the lockdown, I was hopeful that the osteopathy status would change, however it has not. Although osteopathy has not been listed as an industry that must close, it has also not been listed to stay open. This oversight has unfortunately left us without delegation from the pro...vincial government and Ministry of Health to continue to offer our services. I have written to my local MPP to make him aware of the need of osteopathy in the community and to request it be added to the list of services that may remain open. Osteopathic Manual Practitioners in Ontario abide by a very strict set of rules and regulations of COVID-19 protocols in order to operate safely, yet our industry has been bypassed with the Ontario government. I will continue to advocate to the Government of Ontario, via my local MPP, Ministry of Health, and Public Health Ontario on behalf of my clients to be able to obtain a needed service. Thank you for your understanding and stay safe.
Important clinic information regarding Ontario-wide shut down, effective December 26, 2020 Osteopathy services are not deemed essential, according to the new Grey Zone measures starting December 26, 2020. In the hopes that the Kingston region will not need to remain closed for the full 28 days, I will be cancelling appointments on a week-to-week basis. ... No new appointments will be scheduled until further notice.
