My favourite kind of story, a LOVE STORY: Samantha and Kellen met the summer of 2013 at a campfire held by Sam’s cousin - who also happens to be Kellen’s best friend (can someone say matchmaker?). Anyone there that night would agree that there was an instant connection between these two right off the bat. Was it love at first sight, or did Sam overhear Kellen telling the guys that his brother-in-law was on tour with the Jonas Brothers? (I’m fangirling just WRITING that). I th...ink it’s safe to say more sparks were flying that night than just at the fire! These laidback lovebirds love doing just about anything together from binge-watching their favourite shows (Shameless) to packing up the car for an adventurous road trip . May of 2019, Sam received quite the birthday gift when the lovely couple headed down to Nashville. Perfectly executed, super romantic and surrounded by family, Kellen popped the question!! No one makes Samantha laugh more than this man. Their love for each other radiates. I CANT WAIT to photograph your big day

Let’s talk about your DRESS! It’s stunning, you look HAWT and your future spouse is drooling when they see you for the first time Something that is always thought about causing unnecessary stress : not wanting to get your dress DIRTY. But let me tell you, NO ONE ever notices that bit of dirt on the bottom because they are there for YOU. Or maybe you’re eloping and then SERIOUSLY no one will see it but your partner. ... But let me just talk about what it means to not be perfect on your wedding day. It means you’re TRULY living in the moment, embracing your wild love you share together because maybe you were running along the beach together listening to the waves, thinking of the first time you met and all of those feelings - then of course I’m there photographing those moments and creating some RADDDD photos for you to look back on. Or maybe that dirt of symbolizes that motorcycle ride you took together to the reception because that’s your favourite pass time together, I don’t know about you, but that would be FREAKIN SICK Maybe that dirt symbolizes you exploring around the canyons together before you get to the perfect spot to have your vows during your elopement. Maybe that dirt symbolizes a simple moment where you’re slow dancing together and talking about the future, when you didn’t realize the grass was a little wet. But WHO CARES. Those moments are SO IMPORTANT to embrace that being worried about the bottom of your dress shouldn’t even be on your mind! Live your elopement and wedding day for each other @ Portland, Oregon

~ wishing I was sunbathing in Pensacola right about now and back photographing these two Hey Photogs! Are you afraid of direct sunlight and are always trying to frantically find shade during your session? This session was at 10am and we just EMBRACED the beautiful sunny Florida weather. Take the time to experiment in different lighting situations so you can give your couples MORE from their session by being confident with the different kinds of lighting! Just because it is bright, doesn’t mean you can’t create those natural moments for your couples to embrace. Then you can feel at ease while you shoot, so you can focus on THEM @ Pensacola, Florida

OKAY I HAVE BEEN ON AN EDITING SPREEEE! One second you’re caught up on editing those Summer + Fall weddings, next you’re knee deep in those Winter ones. But I have some FREAKIN’ STUNNING weddings in some cool places this chilly season. Like Hannah + Danilo’s here in Mexico! Their day was beautiful, surrounded by their family + friends from around the world. Hannah was losing her voice that day, so they decided to read their vows just to each other beside the ocean. It was... one of my favourite moments of the day because there were happy tears rolling down their cheeks while the bottom of Hannah’s dress was wisped away by the water at sunset. I literally felt like we were on a Nicholas Sparks movie set and it was PERFECCTTT! Then the night ended with a Brazillian dance party on the beach with twinkly lights. I loved this day. Have a look through this little swipe post I have here + let me know your favourite photo from the day in my comments! @ Tulum Quintanaroo Mexico

Cheers to a fabulous Wednesday! So far, I am accomplishing a lot! A lot being 3 THINGS a day! Now, you’re probably sitting there being like Huh? That’s literally nothing But to me, it’s SOMETHING. ... With the winter being a relatively slower time for us photographers, I feel a little less motivated as I would in the heat of the summer with the sun shining through your window each morning and the trees in full bloom to start your perfect day. Each day I wake up and I take the dog out and I’m feelin’ GOOD because the weather makes me feel good and I might have two sessions that day that I’m stoked about, which makes me go into full LOVE MY JOB work modes! And don’t get me wrong, I seriously LOVEEE my job all year around, but when it’s a bit gloomy out in the winter, I have this tactic to stay on task! Write out a list of 3 things you need to do for the day. Mine is usually: Catch up on emails Finish editing _______ session Write a blog post Two of those things, super important. The last one, nothing bad would happen if it never got done. But it helps my business and it’s not an every day task. I always do the MOST important stuff first on the list. I feel as though the smaller the list, the more likely I’m going to achieve it. In reality, my list could go all the way to 500 things but it’s SO easy to get overwhelmed to not do anything at all because you don’t know where to start. Best part of all, when you get to mark off those three things off your list, because I’m old school and still use pen + paper! Then start a new one! That new list will make you feel yet again ACCOMPLISHED and things are getting done faster and more efficiently because you just trick yourself into thinking your list is almost done because anyone can do 3 things a day! I am currently writing this caption at midnight because I never post in real time. But I was just feeling GOOD about accomplishing 18 things today. That’s 6 lists! And I really utilized my day to the max as some of these tasks took WAY longer than others! Do you have a tip or trick of staying on task? Are you going to try out my 3 Things A Day List tactic? I’d love to know what helps you! @ Tulum Quintanaroo Mexico
