A new Home Theatre design I just completed! One of several photos. A classic concession bar just outside the classic custom theatre! A huge thank you to my amazing client who photographed the space and allows me to share it with everyone! #hometheater #avtweeps #interiordesign #cinemamaison #bar #mariadeschampsdesigner
Something to share with collogues, clients and friends, when talking about headphones... Sharing this article from CE Pro "The Idea of Home Theater Headphones Doesn’t Make Sense" #hometheater #headphones #avtweeps #hometheaterdesign https://lnkd.in/diWttuD
I often design invisible doors in home theaters especially when the entrance is near the screen, but this is puzzling!!
This project is just about complete for the holidays! It’s been a long road worth waiting for
I’m sharing a great article from the New Yorker, my colleague, Steve shared it, calling out for the necessity for designers to be attentive to the aural and not just the visual. For me this part of design is personal. As a designer who’s lost 65% of her hearing I’ve conceded to wearing hearing aids (which are like having two tiny Dolby speakers in each ear) so acoustics really hits home. So when you have to design a new space in this Covid-19 era (or any era) be proactive a...bout acoustic design. This article talks about the obvious: virtual walls, spacing out offices, reducing staff by rotating their time in the office, restaurants’ challenges etc... It also talks about the not-so-obvious: designing for the deaf and many other historic design examples. Did you know that Le Corbusier installed a sink in the entryway of his Villa Savoye, in 1931? It’s intriguing to be part of this era and another major milestone in architecture and design.
