Last night Bentley wanted to play with my camera, which was fine. He has such a creative eye and I love seeing what he captures through his 8 year old eyes. Normally I’m not in the photos so I don’t usually mind. This time I was in all of them. As I glanced through the images I instantly went in defence mode. Hand print on my fridge, charger clutter in the corner, and I don’t even want to talk about how bad my hair needs to be washed. I was also internally laughing because he... captured me making my finest batch of KD As Bentley came around the corner he saw the photos and said look at you and Tay cooking mom. I instantly thought to myself, WOW, look how quick I was to criticize myself and my house. Although he didn’t hear me thinking those negative thoughts, it’s the fact that I felt them. Through his eyes he saw a special moment I was having with Tatum. My kids are getting older, and I won’t have many more opportunities to hold Tatum while I cook. Being perfect on Instagram isn’t everything. It’s the moments. It’s the perspective. Just thought I would share this, especially as we head into the holidays. Don’t take these moments for granted.
