April 10, 2021 Indeed, it is my birthday! Toronto, Ontario, Canada Is at the height of covid pandemic... On its third wave, number of covid cases keep rising More patients recovered and some died Most scary is the coming of covid variant that is more contagious Started vaccinating people, young and old Hoping this nightmare will vanish But this covid will become seasonal like the flu they said Well, I had my swab test this week The result was negative, thank God! However, I still follow the covid protocols I am dettermine to build my immune system And of course, I pray to keep myself healthy I have no choice, but to live with it. Thank you to my family, relatives and friends For your birthday greetings and well wishes for me! You lifted my spirit in this sad covid pandemic Inspired me to keep working on my goals Even in my senior years when I wanted to retire An opportunity came beyond expectation I cannot let go, giving me a chance to continue my fight To become more creative visual artist and graphic designer! I know this is all hardwork My true passion in art, very interesting and inviting I will just do it anyways So that later in my solitude, I will have no regrets. Springy Weather How wonderful, springy weather is finally coming soon This last weekend of winter, I see tulips and daffodils sprouting on the ground... Buds are up the trees and birds are flying and chirping Did not mind the showers, I know they bring flowers of May The end of my insomnia, blues and hibernation... Not to worry, I am alive, walking outside on sunny days Feeling the cool breeze and breathing fresh air... Highly spirited, ready to fight the odds, slowly moving on.... and dreaming on... Hoping for interesting challenges until I find my muse First, I must celebrate April 10th, my birthday with some friend I could pursue art till summer- paint pink and yellow roses on porcelain vase and cherry blossoms on canvas Prepare for my first solo art exhibition which I have been postponing because of many distractions Book a flight for a relaxing vacation to visit family, relatives and friends in the Philippines Sometime, cannot help but think of my last day everyday Life is short and it is not a fairy tale to live happily ever after So, I will enjoy life to the fullest, because I do not know what will happen to me next? Sure spring will come and go, wherein one can always start a new fresh beginning and make a difference While others believed in spring fever spell to seek their mates to care for I am only human, I have that moment, too, slightly... Working on poetry book, coffee table book of paintings... And to study Graphic Design & Interactive Media These are big challenges for Maria Nellie, the stargazer...
