I LOVE THIS ARTICLE!!! Must Read! So many people do not understand why their credit score is what it is and how to improve it. I sit with my clients and go through their credit bureaus so they understand how to optimize credit and use it positively. Summary of the article ... 1. Keep your balance at 33% or less of your credit limit Example: Card limit $1000, every month BEFORE your statement is generated pay down your balance TO $330 or less. 2. Know when your statements are printed and pay down your credit card or pay it off all together 3. Taking advantage of the grace period and paying off your credit card/line of credit balance in full after the statement comes out but before your due date is good; but it is FAR better to pay in full before your statement comes out. 4. Use all dormant cards or lines of credit. Utilize all your cards, every month if possible, buy gas, or a lip gloss, or groceries etc. pay it off immediately and then leave it again until next month. 5. Pull a CONSUMER version of your credit report and make sure there is nothing reporting on the report that shouldn't be. Late payments or collections etc. that shouldn't be there but are, are negatively impacting your score. I cannot stress how helpful and useful this is. I see this everyday with clients, I take the time to inform all my clients about their credit. Reach out to me for more information. Have a great Friday!!

Happy Hump Day! Hope the new year has been good to you thus far. The Bank of Canada just released news that they will maintain the overnight rate target at 1 3/4%.... All your variable rate debts that fluctuate based on this rate (mortgages, home equity lines of credit etc.) will remain unchanged. Have a wonderful day and enjoy this beautiful sunshine!
