To address this issue, ( -) was int...roduced in the House of Commons on February 26, 2020, by Lenore Zann, the MP for Cumberland-Colchester, and moved forward to second reading on December 8, 2020. With a Global Brigades, C&V Committee, Female Force, Red Cross, MEDLIFE, Interact, First Aid, Jack.org, MFTBC, MBSU, MCHF, MUCH, MBN, and HPI, we have worked together to organize a food drive scheduled to take place on March 1st. With your help, we will collect non-perishable goods and donate them to local food banks, which are counting on people like you to help the community and feed families in need. There have been many volunteer drivers, which is great! However, we are s...till in need of more donors. Small or big, any donation will make a difference! Here are the 6 drop-off zones we've set up for your convenience; you may choose whichever is closest to you: Fairview (West Island), to support On Rock Community Carrefour Angrignon (Lasalle), to support Share the Warmth Côte-Vertu (Saint-Laurent), to support On Rock Community Lionel Groulx (Downtown), to support Mission Old Brewery Mall Champlain (Brossard), to support Mission Nouvelle Génération Metro Westmount, to support Mission Old Brewery For guidance on what to donate, here are a few examples: * Pasta * Canned foods * Beans * Teabags * Coffee * Rice * Food mixes * Soft bars Alternative ways to participate: If you do not feel comfortable leaving your house, it is totally understandable. Other ways to help would be by donating money through the GoFundMe we've set up (all proceeds will go to the shelters) or by spreading the word to friends and family. Links: To donate non-perishable food, use this link: https://forms.gle/vrkJYf9NnVWz8jR66 To donate money, use this link: shorturl.at/lKQR7 The success of this initiative relies solely on participation rate. 5 minutes of your time can and will make a difference. Thank you to everyone who's already responded, and thank you in advance to the future participants for your time and consideration. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

[GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE] On September 25th, Fridays For Future calls for a global climate action day. As a response to this international mobilization call, people will be mobilizing all around the globe for both social and climate justice. Since we call for a just recovery for workers, some regions in Quebec Montreal included are choosing to do the strike on the Saturday 26th instead to be more inclusive of workers who cannot usually attend on Fridays due to working hours.... In Montreal, the strike will be on September 26th at 1PM and will be starting at Place du Canada. The demands of the event focus on the regularization of undocumented migrants, defunding the police, the full recognition of Indigenous nations’ right to self-determination, as well as the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2030. Strict sanitary and safety precautions will be followed with everyone wearing a mask and keeping a 2-meter distance. We will also offer masks and hand sanitizer. The event is co-organized by Coalition étudiante pour un virage environnemental et social - CEVES, Debout pour la Dignité, The Racial Justice Collective, Extinction Rebellion Youth Québec, Climate Justice Montreal - Justice Climatique Montréal, Pour le futur Mtl, La Planète s'invite au Parlement. Hope to see you there!
