Our retirement years will be here sooner than we think. Ideally, you’ve been putting away at least 10% of your earnings into a retirement account. But if you haven't, here are a few ways to get you started on the right path. 1. Pay Yourself First. ...Continue reading

DID YOU KNOW: Life insurance is not just for adults? Some people may think this is taboo, but purchasing a participating whole life insurance policy on a child is the safest investment you could ever make into your child’s future. Some people know it as the Million Dollar Baby savings plan. These policies pay a dividend every year that gets deposited into the cash value of the policy. This dividend has fluctuated over the years from 12% to now 6.3% per year. It allows the po...licy to grow and compound every year. By putting away only $200 a month for your child into this policy, you can essentially help fund your child’s retirement. The growth in this investment is tax sheltered, and there is a way to use the funds in the policy to fund major purchases throughout your child’s life, such as a new car, education, or a down payment on their first home, or even to fund their first business! This investment strategy will give your child equity starting at a very young age, which will give them options in the future. And it is a stable investment that virtually has no risk, but has much more growth capability than a standard chequing account or a GIC. It also has a lot more flexibility than an RESP, in that the funds can be used towards anything you choose, not just education. But don’t take my word for it. Jim Pattison, one of the richest men in Canada, has attributed his wealth to his whole life insurance policy. He used the equity in his policy to start his very first car dealership. His empire, Jim Pattison Group, is now the second largest privately held company in Canada. Today, Jim Pattison is Canada 4th richest person and BC's biggest billionaire (worth over $7 BILLION). The bank may not have given him the money he asked for if he didn’t have his life insurance cash value. You can see it in his letter attached. Please contact me if you are interested in learning more about this strategy to secure your child's future. : 778-895-7706 : [email protected] --------------------------------------------------------------- #LifeInsurance #WholeLife #Dividends #Investments #ChildPolicy #MillionDollarBaby

Let the compound effect work for you and not against you. The cost of a coffee a day might not seem like much, but over time, a little goes a long way. Saving/investing is purely a habit, as is spending. Are your habits getting you closer to your financial goals/dreams or moving you further away from it? It's easy to spend!!! And much more fun. We can literally spend every penny that we earn. But it takes discipline to save/invest. All it takes is a few bucks a day to be on a better path financially. Talk to me about how to get your money to work harder for you.

Approaching my 6th year in the financial industry now, and I've come to one definite conclusion: It's not always about how much money you make, it's how much you actually keep. I've sat down with individuals who make less than $30K, and individuals who make upwards of six figures or more - sometimes it baffles me just how little people know about money! But it's not really their fault. There's lack of financial education in the community and people have no idea what to do wit...h their money. So the more they make, the more they tend to spend. Example: I've sat with moms who barely make $2000 a month, yet they put away more than $500 towards their future (that's 25% of their earnings) and have zero debts. Why? Because they live simply and are long term thinkers. On the other side, I also have clients who make more than $8000+ per month, but lack financial discipline, pays tons in taxes and spend more half their paychecks on "stuff," who also have $50K in student loans and $30K in consumer debts and paying thousands per month for debt repayments and can BARELY set aside 5% of their earnings for their future..... What does this tell you? It doesn't matter what you're earning, if you don't know how to manage your money, you're not doing yourself any favour. Cus if you're earning and working hard for your money, might as well learn how to make it work harder for you. "It's not your salary that makes you rich, it's your spending habits." Do you agree? What are your thoughts? #finance101 #moneygame #knowtherules #playitwell #financialknowledge #wealth #spendinghabits #compoundeffect #compoundinterest #financialindependence #cashflowquadrant #finances #millenials #babyboomers #financialliteracy #debts #debtfree #creditcards #studentloans #taxes #investments #insurance #tfsa #rrsp #resp #moneymatters

Some people complain about not having any money to save or invest towards their future. There's usually two solutions: either increase cashflow by eliminating debt or managing expenses (giving yourself a budget so you tell your money where to go instead of wondering where your money went), OR simply make more money by having a side hustle that generates additional income so you have extra money to set aside for what's important. If you're working hard to make a living but NOT... putting anything towards your future, what are you working for?! When does this cycle end? There's more to life than living to pay bills. Have a plan - an exit strategy. Don't just work for the sake of existing and coasting through life, work towards an end goal. It's true what they say: "Most people don't plan to fail they just fail to plan." We've all been through tough times. But you have the choice to get out of your current situation at ANY moment. There is always a solution, but only if you are looking for it. With all the information and solutions readily available, it just baffles me that there are people who still refuse to take action yet continue complaining about lack of money. Well, that just tells me one thing. It's simply not a priority for them. If it's important, they'll find a way. If not, they'll find another excuse. #advice #dontbeanaskhole #truth #realtalk #moneytips #financialknowledge #solutions #cashflow #finance101 #debtfree #millenials #babyboomers #financialfreedom #business #entrepreneur #multiplestreamsofincome #sidehustle #whateverittakes #stopplayingvictim #millionairemindset #workhard #worksmart #passiveincome #haveaplan #exitstrategy #investments #savings #wealth #money #freedom
