Dear all, It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing to let you know that Stephen and I have decided to relocate to the Cowichan Lake area. This was not an easy choice to make, but we feel as though it is the right one for our growing family. My last day at Coastal Roots Health Centre will be May 28th 2021. Over these last 6 years I have built so many wonderful relationships with all my clients at Coastal Roots, more than I can express in words. I have genuin...ely enjoyed being your RMT and providing you with the best quality of therapeutic treatment my hands (and elbows) can provide. This is why I chose to become a massage therapist I love helping people. Thank you for trusting me whole heartedly to care for you, whether it was for rehab, stress management, or routine maintenance and preventive treatments. As I prepare my family to make this exciting move, I will of course be delighted to see you at your schedule appointments before my last day here. Beyond that, I highly recommend our other amazing RMTs Joy Fitzner and Virginia Jensen, as well as Sydney Doan (our wellness massage practitioner). They are all skilled professionals I hold in high regard. I feel confident that you and all my patients will be in excellent hands under their care. I would like to thank you for providing me with your loyalty and kindness over the years. Working at Coastal Roots Health Centre has been a wonderful experience for me that I will not soon forget, and I will surely miss seeing you and all my patients on a regular basis. Yours sincerely, Marie McCoy, RMT

After a bunch of confusion Dr. Bonnie has set things straight for us Rmts. The medical mask mandate does not apply to allied health professionals (Rmts, chiropractors, physiotherapist, dentists, occupational therapist). The protocols and guidelines we have been following within our own health clinics is sufficient enough. As long as you have a face covering, whether it be a medical mask a cloth mask, it will be acceptable. I want to share this. Looks like going forward everyone is required to wear a medical mask when you come to a health clinic. https://www.documentcloud.org//7326332-Mask-Use-Health-Car

Today is my last day in the clinic before I take my mat leave. I'll be taking the summer off and expect to be back in September! I am leaving you all in the caring hands of Allison Ward. She will be starting her locum July 6th and working my shifts Monday-Friday. Her schedule is open for booking, so you can go online or call the office to book an appointment with her! Thank you :)

The "new normal" brings on a lot of change. RMTs have been working diligently and carefully to make sure our clinic spaces and treatment rooms are as safe as can be and as clean as can be. Here is my return to practice plan. These are the steps I am taking to minimize risk of exposure. Please read through it if you plan on coming in for a treatment. Thank you!

Hurray! I'm going back to work! I will be back in the clinic starting May 19th. I am planning a gradual return to work, with limited appointments, so that I can ensure that every patient has a clean and safe space for their treatments. I am looking forward to seeing you soon!

Coastal Roots Health is pleased to announce that we will be opening our doors for all services mid-may. We will keep you updated with the exact date as soon as ...it becomes confirmed from our Provincial Health Authority. As expected, our clinics will be upholding the highest health standards set forth by the BC Health Authority and our regulatory bodies. To partner together for our community, we ask that when presenting for your appointments, kindly complete our Covid 19 questionnaire, present with fresh/ clean clothing, try not to touch anything, wear a mask if you have one, and please wash/disinfect your hands upon entering the clinic. If you are feeling ill or show any symptoms of being sick, we insist that you please immediately cancel your appointment. We care about you, and those whom you will come in contact with. With our efforts combined, we are sure to do our part in transitioning toward the highly anticipated Phase 3.
