THE MARIGOLD UKULELE FESTIVAL IS SOLD OUT! Welcome home James Hill This festival has always been chance for James to connect with neighbours and friends here in Nova Scotia. In pre-pandemic times he would be travelling to festivals all over the world. This is his home festival. We are so happy to share him virtually with everyone this year. And true to form he always comes up with something interesting and new to present to us. Here is James' workshop description: Hard Times... Stephen Foster's Hard Times Come Again No More is equal parts anthem and hymn. In this live arranging session you'll work with James to create an original rendition of this timeless melody. Watch and play along as James spins ideas from attendees into a finished recording right before your very ears! By the end of the workshop you'll have explored chord voicings, 3-part harmony, arranging, recording techniques and more.

Meet Manitoba Hal! Manitoba Hal is a guitarist, songwriter and ukulele player. Using a combination of looping technology and effects he creates a performance that is one-of-a-kind. His combination of finger picking and strumming creates an instantly accessible sound that compliments his fresh and inventive originals and arrangements of traditional blues. And this is first appearance at the Marigold Festival! Here is info on his workshop. Can't wait! Ukulele At The Crossroads ...- Blues Workshop Legend has it that Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil at a crossroads at midnight in order to learn to play the blues. Fortunately you don’t have to do that. You too can learn the blues and no voodoo rituals or selling of your soul is needed! Manitoba Hal will take you through the 12 bar blues progression. Show you a few tricks and tips and have you strumming your favourite blues in no time. We are almost sold out! Don't wait to register!

Festival Update: Meet Cynthia Kinnunen! This is Cynthia's 2nd time presenting at the Marigold Fest. Those who were there in 2019 can't wait to see her again. He...re is a description of her workshop. Get your neon on! Like, Totally 80s! Skills & Songbook Builder Four totally tubular chords might get you there most of the time but adding some extra musical bits can really bring a song to life. In this workshop, we’ll explore a few radio favourites from the 80s and take them up a notch with some rhythm techniques and musical extras. Ukulele to the max, dude. Cynthia K Music
