We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Carizon Family and Community Services to provide counselling supports to pregnant women and mothers in our community! This is possible through funding provided by the United Way's Emergency Community Support Fund.

These gorgeous quilts were handmade by a donor during the first lockdown in the spring. We are including them in our baskets for new moms. It warms our hearts the show of caring that has come forth from the community during this time. Handmade gifts are such a display of kindness and the colourful patterns bring cheer and joy.

Make the right call. 211 is a free service that connects individuals and families with social supports in their communities. During the pandemic, most people contacted 211 for support with access to food and food delivery services, mental health support, and helping them understand the financial support available to them. A huge shout out to a past member who purchased masks for Marillac Place and at the same time supported other local organizations! 50% of profits are going to: -Food4Kids Waterloo -The Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington -Women’s Crisis Service of Waterloo Region... The masks are beautifully produced and at the same time will keep our residents safe.

Maintenance and repairs to an older home could not be possible without the help of so many valued volunteers and donors. Home Depot Gateway Park have stepped up to help with repairs when needed. We can not thank them enough for giving of their time and the materials.

We are absolutely thrilled and appreciative to be recipients of the proceeds of this weekend’s craft sale. This collection of artists who were family, neighbours and friends donated the proceeds of their two-day sale to Marillac Place and The Waterloo Region Family Network. Thank you to Dave and Barbara for organizing and hosting this beautiful outreach. Our thanks as well to all the talented artists who generously donated their time and treasured art pieces!

‘Shaping Peace Together’ is the theme for this year's International Day of Peace. At Marillac Place we will celebrate and stand with our community by demonstrating compassion, kindness, and hope during the ongoing pandemic. This global crisis has elevated the urgency to come together to create solutions free from discrimination and hatred. We could not do the work of our agency alone. We are together in this, in peace.

This weekend--Enjoy the last days of summer while supporting your local community! Through the pandemic this group created some wonderful crafts that will be for sale including live edge occasional tables, charcuterie boards, fused glass jewelry and art, custom pillows, beeswax wraps, coasters and more. Items range from $7 to $700. The proceeds will support Marillac Place and the Waterloo Region Family Network.... Come and shop for local handmade items at: 93 John St. W, Waterloo Saturday from 10 AM 4 PM and Sunday noon 4 PM.

One of our residents is in need of a new high chair. If you have one in good condition suitable for a toddler, please think of us for your donation.

Just in! Thank you to The Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo and the Kitchener-Waterloo Community Foundation who have supported the creation of departure bins for residents for when they move out. These bins contain necessities for starting a new home and help the women feel supported as they transition out of Marillac Place.

Our community has shown us support through donations of home-made masks for our staff and residents. We thank everyone who has contributed their time, talents and kindness to these sewing projects. Wearing a homemade non-medical mask/facial covering in the community is recommended for periods of time when it is not possible to consistently maintain a 2-metre physical distance from others, particularly in crowded public settings. Thank you for alleviating some of the stress we all feel in these times and for this very special message from a seamstress donor.
