I deleted close to 2000 images today but after all of that I added this edit back into the mix. This capture of an exceptional rider and her stead is one of my favourite memories. It was minus 35C when she asked if I might be interested in attending an indoor dressage event she was performing at... obviously I said yes and I had a grand time observing and capturing. While there I noticed that every time the door opened and the hot inside air rushed to leave... there was a lot of dramatic light- my friend being good natured as she is agreed to going out and returning in the cool light. Thanks Averil!! #oldpaper #photoshop #layers

Pretty cool (ha) that I'm able to keep snowflakes from 2015! Found this lovely lineup as I continue my hard drive purging.. of course these guys are keepers! Still hoping that we get some updated flakes however meanwhile.. I do seem to have a fair amount of snowflake data to play with!!... This image was created using 6 images, captured handheld using a Sigma 105mm macro lens, using Photoshop and the process called focus stacking. Where are my snowflake lovers?

How do you eat your dried berries? One berry at a time! This lovely bull Elk was grazing on dried berries found along a roadside in Jasper National Park, several years ago. One of the gazillion reasons it is great to live so close to Jasper is the ability to see wildlife like this fellow. ... Do you have a wildlife favourite near where you live?

"Snowy Day's Visitor" Archived image of a White Breasted Nuthatch, captured through my window... the effect is very painterly and even though it was a chilly day this image makes me feel warm. I'm missing the snow. Liking the sun. But missing snow. How about you?... Anyone missing snow and the cool visitors it brings? See more

Great Horned Owl. Not always spotted in daytime as they perch against the trunks of trees, usually out of sight... but when one is seen they don't seem to mind being photographed. As always from a distance with a long lens. Learn more about these fierce hunters at: https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/great-horned-owl

Crazy not crazy. We grow. Lose touch with those who we knew the we grew. And then we reconnect. Since we lost our Mum, we sibling have connected physically every year, since covid. We are fortunate to have many memories of these gatherings, including this one in 2019... I know our mothers Rose and Lois would be and likely were proud to see this reconnection. Thanks Ralph for taking us on a trip of a lifetime! We owe you a few lucky pinches! <3 ..keep your head up, keep your heart strong.. and appreciate the good fortune we all have been blessed to endure. ...I will always remember you the same...

Oh my dear sweet Jasper... why do you make it so hard to leave? You know a human should consume breakfast before 13:00 (1PM) however you make it so difficult. We should consider our relationship... Peace Country: Do you have a hard time leaving Jasper? ... #roadsnacks #forgettoeat #eyecandyforbrunch

Look around. As we stepped safely off a helicopter onto a gravel bar in a river, during a flight to celebrate our anniversary... he spotted a piece of petrified wood and I saw this heart rock. #lucky #solid #rockhounds #rocksolid #chipabirdeeimages

Grumpy Pants!! Cool part though neither of these "misters" flew away or stood up. How do you feel when you look at these images... grumpy? or do you think the look is overdone! hahah

Pops of cheery colour: Pine Grosbeaks. You may remember me mentioning, on my recent snowflake post, being distracted by the sweet song of a flock of grosbeaks who were visiting our lilac bush - well here they are. Give a listen to their song https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/pine-grosbeak and tell me that is not one of the most beautiful songs! How lucky are we to have these winter visitors! And even better.. I was thinking we should have clipped off the scraggly seed heads from the lilac... and now look at why seeds should be left alone. Ha! Have you had Pine Grosbeaks visiting your yard?
