VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL BOATERS The effects of global warming are now very apparent in the condition of boat bottoms left in the water this season. ... The increase in water temperature has resulted in a terrible amount of growth that will cause your hull to go soft with time!!! I am seeing boats that already have water behind the gel coat after just one season left in the water without bottom paint!!! This is the reason why so many US boats have bottom paint. I am personally not a great fan of bottom paint but the truth of the matter is that if you are leaving your boat in the water for more than a couple of weeks then you need bottom paint. Over the next couple of days I will post some pics that show what can happen to your boat if you leave it in the water too long without bottom paint.
