I have some important news to share in regards to Transat (Holidays)....they will be cancelling the 2021 Atlantic Canada winter program. That would include the non-stop flights from Halifax to the Caribbean. Any bookings I've made for 2021 departures will be converted back into the original Future Travel Credit. Transat has advised they will return to Atlantic Canada for the full 2022 winter program. The Future Travel Credits do not expire and are fully transferrable. T...he policies around these credits remain unchanged and there are no refunds being permitted, and no exceptions are being made. Some of you may be asking why....and the only thing I can think of (my opinion) is that unlike Sunwing, who operates their own aircraft, same as Westjet, and Air Canada vacations charters their aircraft from Air Canada (FYI - many of their direct 2021 departure from Halifax are already 70% sold), Transat had a wet lease on their aircraft from Smartwings. I think they would of had to make an early decision to break the agreement and with passenger #'s down, it had to be done. I would suspect you'll see them load 2022 inventory in the system earlier than usual if you'd like to re-book. Another option if you still want to get away in 2021, and as rapid testing is being monitored, and vaccines are not far off....you can use that credit for any of Transat's product out of another gateway like Montreal or Toronto in the winter/spring for example.
