Since 1996, The Environmental Stewardship Award (TESA) has been awarded annually at the provincial and national level to recognize cattle producers’ leadership ...in conservation. Nominees and applicants are selected based on their stewardship practices, accomplishments and goals. All beef cattle operations in Canada are eligible to apply. Producers can either be nominated by an individual or organization or apply themselves through their provincial or regional cattle organization(s)- Maritime Beef Council. All methods are equally encouraged.

Because on the farm- every day is Earth Day! We are looking for nominations for The Environmental Stewardship Award. This marks the 25th anniversary of the award, and we would be very pleased to put a Maritime Beef Producer's name forward for consideration on the National Stage. The Deadline for National is July 1st- but we would like to know by June 1st if you have an initial nomination so that we can assist in getting the requisites for the July 1st application! Drop Amy a line if you have a producer in mind or would like to self nominate. [email protected]

Canada’s beef sector is diverse and spans a large geography, making production systems d...iverse and issues specific to certain regions. The Canadian Cow-Calf Cost of Production Network will aim to develop focus groups of producers who can share their data and information, interact with like-minded producers, and share ideas and strategies. The outcome will be cost of production benchmarks for sectors specific to ecoregions across Canada.
