Yesterday, Norwex made a huge announcement. In my 10 years with Norwex, I have never seen anything like it. Norwex is donating 1 million masks throughout the U.S. and Canada. Moreover, Norwex has started making masks that you and I can wear when we need to leave our homes. These are not medical-grade masks that are currently in such short supply. We must keep those for the front-like workers. But Norwex tested various microfibers and discovered that our window cloth material ...can filter particles down to 0.4 microns in size. When the CDC announced yesterday that it is recommending that people wear masks when they leave their homes, it was a bit of a game changer for North America. With the knowledge that many asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic people could be spreading the virus without knowing it, I know I will be wearing a mask when I must leave my house. It may not protect me from getting the virus (although it might too), but it could keep me from accidentally spreading it to others if I didn't know I was sick. The masks are, of course, washable and reusable. I don't have specifics yet about when these masks will be available, other than in April. Nor do I know the cost yet, but Norwex has promised that they will be reasonable. This is HUGE, folks. There will be an enormous demand for these. Normally, as a Norwex independent consultant, I am not allowed to mention in a public forum that I carry inventory. But because of the current COVID-19 situation, Norwex has relaxed these rules. So I can let you know that if you have an urgent need for most Norwex products, I can supply them. I have nearly everything except some of the personal care items that have expiry dates. I have many, many of the common items like Envirocloths, window cloths, and dusting mitts. So if there is anything you need in the Stratford area, please let me know. I can do porch pickup either at my house or yours.

As I promised my newsletter subscribers, here is a brief summary of the new Norwex products. Apparently, all are ready to order immediately. 1. Toilet spray. Small enough to carry in your purse for when you need to go but don't want to smell up the room. 2. Window cloth mop pad. Same material as a window cloth but as a mop pad. Also great for super shiny floors. 3. Dry & buff car cloth. One side plush microfiber to dry, the other side to spot buff & shine. To be used on was...hed vehicle. 4. Tech cleaning cloth & case. Large size cloth, same fabric as optic scarf but has silicone dots on back for improved grip. Comes in small metal case. 5. Stainless steel straws in bag with brush. Two lengths--8" and 10". Set of two straws (of one length), brush, and bag to store them in which is waterproof. 6. EnviroScrubs. Set of 3 which are EnviroCloth material on one side and Kitchen Scrub Cloth on the other. Great news! The long-awaited release of the Bathroom Cleaner. It was recalled early this year because Norwex discovered it required different labeling and cap. It now has a child-proof cap, new caution label, and a reducer in the bottle opening to regulate the amount coming out. Many, many people were anxiously awaiting this release, especially after the Sanira system was withdrawn. AND ALSO the new Norwex Natural Sunscreen (SPF 30) and Natural Sunscreen Lip Balm (SPF 15) have been released. I will be ordering for sure.

Just a fun little question today. What do your grandchildren call you? If you don't have grandchildren, what did you call your grandparents? I will give my own answer in the comments.

These iris have been in my husband's family since at least the 1950s and likely earlier. They have been moved from their original location on a farm in Markham Twp to nearby Pickering Twp., then moved to Perth Co. in 1974, and finally to our home in Stratford. They belonged to my husband's great aunt and certainly could have belonged to her mother, my husband's great grandmother. They are putting on a lovely show this spring.

Story in last night's Stratford Beacon Herald: The Conservative government is spending $506 million over five years to sniff out dangerous chemicals lurking in your kitchen and bathroom cabinets. The project, overseen by Health Canada and Environment Canada, will study the potential risk to human and environmental health of some 500 chemicals found in common household products.

Hostess at yesterday's Norwex party lent mop to a neighbour. When neighbour returned it, she said hostess should take mop door to door in the neighbourhood and lend it for an hour. Everyone would buy it, as it sells itself. I sold 5 mop systems at yesterday's party.

Another wonderful Norwex party this afternoon plus a bonus catalogue party that came out of it. This weekend is Everything Family Expo in St. Marys. Hope to see some of my friends there.

Very exciting to know that the mop system will still be the hostess gift for August. This will give more people a chance to get the mop free when they host a party in August. Some ladies are going to be excited!

Next week is going to be a busy week for me. I have a Norwex party on Thursday afternoon, then Friday evening is setup for the Everything Family Expo, and then Saturday and Sunday the expo itself. I've a lot to get accomplished this weekend.

I'm off to another Norwex party tomorrow afternoon. That free mop is quite an incentive for July parties!

Something I had never learned in my decades of cleaning toilets. Pour about 2 liters of water in the bowl before starting to clean. This lowers the water level so your cleaning solution isn't as diluted. This works for any method of toilet cleaning. Unfortunately, doesn't work with low-flow toilets.

This was one of those days when I was very thankful for air conditioning. I would not be fit to be around without it. How did our grandmothers manage and have to cook on a wood stove no matter how hot it was.
