I was very pleased to announce with Rodger Cuzner today that our federal government has invested $39.1 million dollars into wastewater infrastructure for the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. Combined with a provincial investment ($32.6 million) and municipal investment ($26.2 million), the total announcement is nearly $98 million. The total investment will support the construction of two new wastewater treatment facilities, install new ultraviolet disinfection systems in five existing facilities, and improve wastewater treatment and collection infrastructure in seven sewer sheds across the CBRM.
