Orion, the hunter is one of the easiest constellations to view in the night sky during the winter season. When near the horizon, he appears very large in the sky. The 'star' in the middle of Orion's sword is actually the Orion Nebula. It is 1500 light-years away and is one of many places where new solar systems are born. I encourage you to take your binoculars, find the man up there and check it out. One of my goals is to take a greatly improved photograph of Orion's ne...bula but this is what I have to date.
