In addition to telephone screenings, front door signs, attestation forms and temperature checks for fevers, we are now also performing a symptom check on all patients for oxygen level screening. This tiny pulse oximeter is painless and helps us check for oxygen levels in a patient without any sort of needle sticks. It hasnt been easy the past few weeks but we want to thank our amazing patients for all their patience in these trying times. Thanks to our wonderful suppliers, we have acquired most of the necessary supplies that we will need to open back up in a safe and protective manner come May 4th. A few more boxes of PPE are expected within the week. Everything from sneeze guards for the staff, hospital strength virus killing sprays and wipes, masks, gowns, sanitizers, disinfectants... and industrial strength cleaning supplies have all been procured to ensure the safety of our patients. We will also be undertaking protocols to ensure that at risk or exposed patients are screened until they have met the guidelines set forth by the Ministry of Health, to be safely seen in our clinics. Scheduling protocols have also been adjusted to prevent crowding in the waiting room, and ensuring that ample time is given for staff and clinicians to maintain the highest standards of infection control measures. We look forward to once again opening our doors and helping the community and its citizens. Office appointments will be ready to be scheduled beginning the afternoon of April 29th. I enjoyed being a student very much, and this is a nice way to stay in touch with old colleagues while sharpening up on new surgical skills and techniques. (Its doubly nice when the conference is at your old alma mater and affords you the chance to visit Cleveland for the weekend! )

Starting June 15th, we are proud to announce the addition of a new clinician to our clinic. Alexandra Witte D.Ch. will be joining our practice and allowing us to increase our weekend and evening appointment availabilities. We believe this will allow us to even better serve and treat our wonderful patients. Read more about Alexandra below:... Alexandra Witte was born and raised in Markham ON. She attended Unionville High School where she graduated from the arts program majoring in the dance arts in 2006. She then went on to pursue her post-secondary education in Hamilton at McMaster University and graduated in 2010 with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Throughout her undergraduate studies she was actively involved with the varsity sports medicine team as a team trainer. In 2013 she completed her advanced graduate diploma in Chiropody from the Michener Institute at UHN in Toronto. Alexandra has been practicing as a Registered Chiropodist within the GTA since 2013. She has had the pleasure of working in various clinical settings ranging from hospitals to private practice. She has been privileged to work at the St. Joseph's Hospital Chiropody clinic where she specialized in treating the very high risk diabetic population performing extensive wound care. She has also served the downtown Toronto population at the Medcan Clinic Canadas leading executive health clinic from 2017-2019. Alexandra is a member of the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine and the Ontario Society of Chiropodists where she was a previously elected member of the board of directors. Alexandra is a retired ballerina and an avid runner who has always had a passion for sports medicine and biomechanics. Currently, she enjoys treating athletes of all ages and sport specialties. In her free time Alexandra loves to travel the world and work on her photography skills.
