All 700,000 members of CUPE nationwide are sending our solidarity to our sisters and brothers in Syndicat des débardeurs - SCFP section locale 375 at the Port of Montreal. Our members offered to withdraw their strike notice if their employer agreed to drop their pressure tactics. But once again the Trudeau Liberals are acting like Conservatives, siding with bosses against workers by meddling in the bargaining process. There can never be free, fair collective bargaining in Canada under the threat of back-to-work legislation.
It's disappointing to see the Liberals waste another chance to take action on pharmacare and long-term care, and refuse to put in a wealth tax needed to help pay for our economic recovery. https://cupe.ca/if-not-now-when-liberals-waste-another-shot
One thing that is not up for debate at #NDPConvention2021 this weekend is my unequivocal support for our leader, Jagmeet Singh.
Workers at Wynn Park Villa are organizing for a better deal at work - and they have the support and solidarity of all 700,000 CUPE members all across Canada! CUPE Local 5483
