Travel Vaccines for Your Whole Family at Markland Wood Pharmacy and Medical Center

Help! Mosquitoes are here!! Which DEET insect repellent can I use? Insect repellents containing DEET can be used safely when applied as directed and in the right concentration, depending on age. Here are some tips to help you choose the right concentration of DEET for you and your family!... 1) Adults + children older than 12 years old may use products containing up to 30% DEET. 2) Children aged 2 to 12 years may use up products containing to 10% DEET. Apply the product up to 3 times daily. 3) Children aged 6 months to 2 years old may use products containing up to 10% DEET. Do not apply the product more than once a day. 4) For children younger than 12 years old, do not use a DEET product on a daily basis for more than a month. 5) For infants younger than 6 months old, do not use an insect repellent containing DEET. Instead, use a mosquito net when babies are outdoors in a crib or stroller.

Ultraviolet B radiation is strongest between 10 am to 4 pm, so seek shade during these times... 2. Cover up with clothing like long sleeves and light-weight fabrics 3. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses 4. Apply sunscreen LIBERALLY 15 minutes before heading outside SPF 30 or higher 5. Reapply after 2 hours or after swimming or sweating Visit us for a wide selection of sunscreens suitable for your whole family!
